If the key to deciphering hieroglyphs was only "recently" discovered how did a society 2,000 years ago even know about Egyptian Myths that orginated about 3,000 years before their own time? .

    Just trolling apparently....

Of course you'll claim that all evidence was burned down by the Roman Conquest of Egyptian lands. Or by the fire that took out the Library at Alexandria.

..... I mean you were so giddy at the thought that deriding an honest grammatical error of mine actually meant something.
It's too bad the personal life coach doesn't seek help for his unhappiness.

Here is how he responded to Viva when Viva poked fun of how B2B spelled truly.

    I forgot to put

    "after Viva"

at the end of my thread le.

You're right up there pal. Grammar jabs........never been done before.

It went a little something like this :

    4) Facts, sources posted to prove the argument is true. Extra Stout slapped in the mouth and proven wrong.
you used wiki to refute a "source do ent"

    Wow that was easy!

I didn't realize you would fall so quickly.

If the key to deciphering hieroglyphs was only "recently" discovered how did a society 2,000 years ago even know about Egyptian Myths that orginated about 3,000 years before their own time? How did they manage to presumably steal "so many elements" from a myth they couldn't even read or understand? How did 12 humble fishermen even manage to do this? And if it were common knowledge to the Hebrews how come allusions to these myths aren't found in the Hebrew canon?

    Thanks for playing.

Don't load your gun too quickly or it may backfire.

Next you're going to try and convince us that King David didn't exist.

Ok, now I really have to go.
Actually that's not a very good argument given that the Roman Empire existed concurrently with a Pharoah-led Egypt. Egyptian myths could have very easily been communicated orally at the time.

Besides, who can keep up with all the pages? Particularly when the trolls have interjected the thread with one liner tangential posts of their own... posts that have only derailed the thread

Maybe you should start reading on page 5 and then you decide who derailed the topic.

Mm. these seasoned fries are delicious.

don't get your atheist panties in a bunch.
I prayed to god for UT to beat Texas Tech in college football this year, so I'm left with two possible conclusions:

    1. God doesn't exist
    2. God is a bas who likes to with people's emotions

Going with #2 for now. He can make it up to me by giving me a Colts Super Bowl.
There is only one god, my god and his name is Corso.
I am not a Troll but I can see you are. Thanks for the History lesson.
Wow, I think someone's just a little bit bitter about their spiritual journey more then anything
    Let me get this straight

You believe in Jesus but you idolize Tony Montana as your avatar?

haha. such dishonesty in people's hearts.
This topic makes 9/11 look like a fire drill.
Your God : I WILL PUNISH YOU FOR ETERNITY - THROW YOU IN TO BE TORTURED AND BURNED IN FLAMES FOREVER!!
    But I still love you!"
    Come on. Use your brain.
Don't post to me anymore, Tony Montana loving "Christian" boy. Go idolize a movie that is about a criminal who commits murder for money and deals drugs.

At least your friends will think you are 'cool'
Seems like your still upset mommy didn't get you that XBox you wanted.

The Story of Moses is another gay ass one.The thing about the Moses BS is that its historically specific to a timeline in Egypt yet no evidence of a adopted prince exist. Also no record of high number of slaves leaving or any evidence of a plague killing the first born child. A disease that kills the first born. Come on now believers. I guess if a man living in a whale for 3 days wont persuade you a disease that kills the first born won't either. The evil doers must have dispose of the evidence. Satan himself made all the records disapear. Yet another test for the cults faith. Believe,Believe,Believe ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

So why did the Romans not do ent the Egyptian language (hieroglyphs in particular)? They were avid historians, were they not? We literally needed the discovery of the Rosetta stone centuries later, to help modern historians figure out what the all those symbols meant.

That's also why Joseph Smith's attempted translation of the "Lost Book of Abraham" (really just a set of random Egyptian papyrus scrolls) seriously backfired on the credibility of the Mormon movement. When he bought them off of traveling merchants, he figured it would help him gain religious prestige to claim to 'read' a language that no one else could understand. He took advantage of the cir stance and introduced a series of forged doctrines that no one else could validate, much less counter.... That is until the English translation of the Rosetta Stone was published in 1858 by the Philomathean Society of the University of Pennsylvania.

That still doesn't address why these myths don't show up anywhere in the Hebrew canon or in any of their historian's accounts.

You're losing me here. Why would they need to do ent Egyptian language? They clearly communicated with each other. That is part of recorded history.

Reading about somewhere else, I happened upon this...

""Imagine the people who believe such things and who are not ashamed to ignore, totally, all the patient findings of thinking minds through all the centuries since the Bible was written. And it is these ignorant people, the most uneducated, the most unimaginative, the most unthinking among us, who would make themselves the guides and leaders of us all; who would force their feeble and childish beliefs on us; who would invade our schools and libraries and homes. I personally resent it bitterly..."

You do understand that Isaac Asimov considered himself an atheist, and the 'childish beliefs' he is talking about are belief in boogiemen who send you to heaven/ when you die?

Even Asimov knew about the 'findings of thinking minds', some of those findings posted in this thread.

somehow you twist that meaning to 'both sides'

Disgraceful. The shotgun is aimed directly at christian faces.
