So if a guy with 25 body piercings and dreadlocks walks into a Cracker Barrel in Jackson, Mississippi, you're saying the friendly Southern folks will walk up to him and say, "Howdy, stranger!" rather than just giving him weird looks, or even saying "Bwah, wyon'choo take all that crap off yer face n'stop scarin' the wimminfolk?"
That gentleman isn't going to get a great reception in Western Pa, either; in fact, he'll probably get more grief than in many parts of the South (never been to Jackson, Mississippi).

Just got back from Germany yesterday. Awesome place. I met quite a few nicer people on the last leg of the trip.

I saw some amazing things there. Some of the highlights of the trip were Salzburg Austria where Mozart was born, Kloster Andechs Monastery who had the best beer I've ever drank, standing in the exact spot where Hitler's body guard took 17 bullets for him, and eating pork knuckle and drinking beer in the Hofbraü.

We took a guided tour of the Dachau concentration camp which will make you sick to your stomach, but it's definitely something you need to do if you are there. There were a couple of shots at George W by the tour guide in which he compared the Germans electing Hitler to Americans electing Bush and he compared Hitlers suspension of civil liberties to Bush's Patriot Act.

We even spent a day skiing in the Austrian Alps.

We didn't get to do half the things we wanted to. There is just way too much history there to fit in, in 14 days. I'd like to go back in the summer.

did you get your mouth around any sausage?
No. I think you are confusing my visit to Germany with the 7 days you spent in Key West last June.

If KMFDM is anywhere near right, some Germans have been very bitter towards the US cuz they think the Marshall Plan did not truly have Germany's interest in mind.

I agree a 100%. I was prepared for it having met Dachau survivors and read about it a lot, but the reaction was still almost too much to bear.

We almost went there, but it was booked up. We ended up at Sankt Johann in Tirol.

Yeah, Obertauern is very popular (it actually make some of the hotels owners a bit y) but it's a great place with excellent skiing.

I know St. Johann i. T. quite well too. It's a nice place also. Did you check Kitzbuhel? (it's not too far and it's one of the legendary European ski resorts).

Anyway funny how small the world is
