At a loss for waiving a 30% shooter?
Ok, so Tolliver wasn't shooting well and he was probably not the best defender, but he's just a kid (23 yrs). Most probably forget that he is a ROOKIE. He was on a contract worth peanuts and probably would have developed into a better shooting big man.
So why did the spurs loose their faith in this guy?
I don't see why there was any need to can him. If anyone, Vaughn should have gone, possibly Udoka.
I liked Tolliver, and thought he sould stay. What the did we achieve by waiving him?
I personally think that the spurs are at a loss with this move.![]()

Championship or Bust. Not daycare for rookies.
His roster spot could be put to much better use...
They did not want to guarantee his contract for the rest of the season.
Matt Bonner is having a breakout year for the Spurs. It was a role that Tolliver was supposed to fill, but just couldn't do for some unknown reason. I like Tollivers game, but he needs to work on performing under pressure.
to sign Miles?!?

lets let the dust settle first. a few things we should be patient about rather than blast waving tolliver.
-was this purely a money saving move with no intention of possibly improving the team
-is ian almost ready to return or is he out for the rest of the season and leaving us short on big men.
-will another nba team even come in the scoop up tolliver or will we have the best chance of bring him back.
His spot will be used to give players 10-day tryouts.
Isn't the point of the D-league to 'D'evelop players? If you need time to find your game it should not be on a championship caliber squad. Very limited ability to absorb error comfortably in the west this year, so no f*cking room for 'trial and error' players.
There could be a lot more truth to this than we know. If we don't find a player that fits well and Ian is a no go then bringing back Tolliver would make sense. He already knows the system and he could sit the end of the bench for insurance purposes.
because he's creepy looking.
I heard Bill Schoening talking with Mike Monroe in the pre-game show last night and he said he still believes Robert Horry will be back in a Spurs uniform before the end of the season.
Getting rid of Tolliver gives them more flexibility - he also said this down economy is affecting even the NBA and everyone is looking to save money.
you beat me too it....this would be classic if soooo
No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

Hey bank shot is that gif your sig? we could use some of that in the playoffs LOL.
that screams nash thread! OMG![]()
let's hope not
You must mean like Fab. At least Fab can pass the ball. Tip out a rebound here and there. Horry only uses 2/3's of the court. He runs from one arc to the other. Then without hesitation launches up duck burners. And when his shots or clanking, anyone inbetween those arcs might just get a shot to the back, or a hip check to the scorers table.Yeah thats real clutch for a Big Man.
