No, Robert Horry won't be coming back to play for the Lakers.
Horry (shown at left with the Spurs) was in town Sunday night and dropped by Staples Center for the Lakers-Heat game at the urging of Rick Fox, his former Lakers teammate. Horry went on the FSN West halftime show with Fox.
Horry, who won three of his seven NBA championships with the Lakers, is in town for a charity event that will be held Tuesday.
Horry, who became known as "Big Shot Rob'' for his clutch shooting, hasn't officially retired. But he said he has no designs on playing again.
"I'm just hanging out with my family. That's all,'' Horry said.
Fox told Horry that he would come back to play if Horry returned. Fox joked that Horry should come back and play for the Lakers the last 15 regular-season games and then be ready for the playoffs.
Horry just smiled and said, "Oh, right.''

Maybe this topic can now "Rest in Peace"
Stern (Laguna Beach): Did you catch the Lakers/Heat game last night? Is is just me or did Horry sound like he was planning to sign with LA? Good fit?
Marc Stein: (5:56 PM ET ) Don't know what he said on TV, if anything, but I've spoken to Big Shot Rob twice since the season started -- and as recently as last week -- and he keeps saying he's talking to no one about coming back. I'd love to see him make a comeback. With apologies to our friends in Phoenix, Horry has been very good to us NBA storytellers over the years. But he keeps shooting the idea down.

so he's finished? about time! then again, he did give us that championship...
For ever and ever amen.
This guys play must have dropped off completely. You would think what he did for the Spews,Lakers and Rockets if he had anything in the tank they would take him. He can always be Will Smiths stand in.
He's a quote from another poster on another forum "FSN did an interview with Horry during the game and Horry said he is trying to keep his shot ready and he would play if someone calls him."
Anyone know when the FSN interview was?
Fox just wants an excuse to make a comeback.
deep down inside Horry knows he wants rings for all his fingers.
oh yeah this reminds me I need to donate my coat to 5 star cleaners
growing up i hated rick fox more than any other living human being.
that smile, that jaw, argh. i hated him.
he should die in a fire.
2009 Bonner > 2009 Horry
Honestly... who in their right mind would want this has-been? Maybe Boston, because their bench is absolute this year, but that would be a REAL desperate move.
