yeah.
i think it's because they still have friendships, despite being on the opposing teams.
...that most of the opposing teams stars, coaches, former coaches, AND former players, like hedo last night, come over to the spurs bench and greet pop...
...it's hard to make out on tv, but if you ever go to the games, you it see...
...i, for one, am not taking pop and what the spurs have built for granted
yeah.

I think all teams do that before a game starts. It's a nice way to start the ass whoopin'.
been a season ticket holder for 11 years...not all teams and not all players do that...
...most of the time you get a courtesy wave after the game...this is different.
Duncan always greets former teammates. This was post game Sunday. I've got a similar pic of him with Beno the last time we played the Kings.

I don't know the story behind Jackson/Popovich. Is it Jackson being an asshole?
Lets just say its likely these guys dont exchange Christmas cards during the holidays.....
Well it's nice D'Antoni can laugh and hug Pop still...
Jackson has a lack of respect for anyone not named Phil Jackson. I really don't think Pop gives two s about him. Spurs fans get more riled up about it than anything.
That and Phil knows Pop can bust out that secret military training and kill him with two fingers and a popcorn box.![]()
There are lots of friendships in the NBA, and this does not just happen with Pop and the Spurs. NBA players, especially the Euros, are huggers.
The NBA is like a family in itself anyway. Players, coaches, media and people in and around the league are familiar with each other and there are some affiliations and friendships that go beyond "because they played together once."
the popcorn is for a snack when he is finished!
doc and pop and the end of yesterday's game
I think it's most interesting when it's done by players who've never been Spurs.
Mike Bibby's only connection to Pop is that Pop was the assistant for the Olympic qualifying team in 2003; yet everytime the Spurs play the Hawks, Bibby makes a point of trekking down to see Pop and share a handshake or a hug.
Since we're doing comparison pictures here, figured I'd throw this one in...
