Recent reports around the internet have indicated the Raptors may be interested in striking a deal with the Bulls. I investigated the issue and found there is a lot of truth to the rumors. The Raptors seem very interested in Andres Nocioni and may be willing to deal Jermaine O誰eal to the Bulls to get him. A trade that has been discussed involved Nocioni and Larry Hughes going to Toronto with O誰eal coming to the Chicago. The Raptors, however, are trying to come up with different variations of deals that would bring Nocioni and Drew Gooden to Toronto. Another deal the teams discussed involved Nocioni, Gooden and Tyus Thomas to Toronto for O誰eal and a filler, but the Bulls felt they would be giving up too much. Look for the talks between Toronto and Chicago to heat up the closer we get to the trading deadline, a deal very likely could go down.

if i was the raptors i do the hughes and nocioni deal. hughes never lived up to his potential because he was always with a dominate wing guy in AI, Lebron, and in the case with the bulls, he had a massload of guys who were good in hinrich, gordon, deng, etc. in toronto i think he can excel with calderon and bosh creating for him and vice versa

Is amazing how much money Cleveland threw at him after just 1 good season and playoff run with Washington.

It was the summer before LeBron's first contract came up, Danny Ferry had tons of cap space and no draft picks, the Cavaliers had already struck out on Ray Allen and Michael Redd, and they had to sign SOMEONE. It's more amazing in retrospect than it was at the time. Like you said, Hughes had had a good year in 2004-05 (although he still managed to miss nearly a quarter of the season with injuries.)

I admit when he went to the Cavs I thought too he would be a good fit with James.

Hey if Hughes found a way to coexist with Arenas there was no reason he could not do the same with LeBron. It just did not work for whatever reason.

So did a lot of Cavaliers fans. They looked at Hughes's numbers and perimeter defense, but they didn't see the volume shooting, selfishness, and constant injuries. The best guy to sign would have been Raja Bell, as it turned out.

I think that Cavaliers-Spurs finals might have been much different with Larry Hughes playing.

Larry would have helped. He couldn't have been any worse than Pavlovic, at any rate. You guys had us outclassed either way. But that's the problem with Hughes right there- you just can't count on him. And durability is just as important as ability.
