I don't know if you really believe that or you're just trying to piss off the nice little spurs fans but, dude, every game TD plays here on end, it's just that much more distance he's putting between himself and Malone.

well in my opinion, if u put the duncan's spurs in the 1990s.. they would not have won any championships, they would be just like the jazz, getting beat by the bulls, just look at the difference between the spurs had to face and jazz who had to face...malone had to play the best team ever in jordan bulls.
spurs last 3 nba finals where against the nets, pistons and the cavs. and also against the 8th seed in 1999. only the pistons were a championship-calibar team. and i do think the suns where the better team in 2007, but again i dont hate duncan or anything. i think hes a great player but in my opinion Malone beats him for the best PF of all time.

    Neither would the Lakers.

However Malone is a chock artist and unlike Duncan, he never really carried the Jazz. It was always Stockton who made big shots when they were down, or even defensive stops.

David West (less talent i might add) is exactly what Malone was and without Stockton, Malone wouldn't be nearly as effective.

Malone also never made his teammates better.

Valid points but on the flip side of that coin, I don't think even a Jordan lead Bulls team would have won 6 les facing the Lakers earlier this decade or TD lead spurs of this decade. I don't think TD is on the same level as a fit Shaq or a Jordan (please spurs fans....no whining...) but he did win rings in what I think was a much harder road than what the Bulls faced in the ninties.

Name one memorable team while the Bulls were winning those rings?

TD faced his tough compe ion and came out ahead.
    Malone wilted under the pressure.

tim duncan is the 2nd best PF of all time.. Karl Malone is the best PF of all time..
Even Malone would tell you Duncan is the best PF of all time.

i think the 00-02 lakers where better than any spurs team this decade. i wouldnt say the lakers would have beaten the bulls every time but i agree with you that they wouldn't have 6 championships if they had to face the lakers.

    Kinda disagreed.

The 2002 nets, 2004 pistons and 2007 cavs were absolutely the best teams or at least the most compe ive teams at that time. can you guarantee that Jordan would have beat those teams if they had played against each other in the same time?

And how can you think that a player who doesn't have a ring is the best PF in NBA of all time?

    No persuasiveness at all

Didn't TD slap your team the very next year (2003). BTW Duncan posted better numbers than Shaq when they met in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, should i continue with the rest.

Oh geez, this is what I get for trying to defend TD.

No....why don't you post all the stats from that year, Spurs Fan.

Obviously I'm too lazy (or couldn't give a flying f**k) to look up the individual stats for those years.

And yes, the spurs -slapped the Lakers that year.
Just as the Lakers -slapped the spurs two time previously.

    You want stats?

How's this: MJ wouldn't be anywhere near top 5 all time player is you look at stats...how's that?

And that's another thing, while I'm at it.

How come you spurs fans keep saying Kobe rode Shaq's coat-tail to those three rings?

We all know those battles with the spurs were the REAL championship games.

The Sixers and the Pacers and the Nets were just after thoughts when there were no REAL challenges and shaq just walked all over them.

Who had more impact on those Lakers/Spurs battles?

That i agree. Shaq never dominates a game on both sides of the floor. That's why he never really dominated Duncan, and the same goes to Duncan. However Duncan plays far superior defense.

    2. Duncan
    3. CP3
    4. James

You can never be the best player in the leauge when you are 6'9 with no post up game, and teams defensive plan is to force you to shoot jumpers.
What a shame. A nice thread celebrating the greatness of Kobe Bryant, and some idiot has to come along and pop off.

I just read that after the Sunday game Kobe passed MJ as the player to have the most points ever while being coached by Phil Jackson.....it took him longer of course 8 years instead of 7 years. But it's still an interesting stat.
