not surprised.
what I am surprised by is that they gave up 107 points...that's not championship defense against THE KINGS.

Magic set NBA record with 23 3-pointers
The threes were falling for the Orlando Magic on Tuesday as they set an NBA record with 23 baskets from long range in a 139-107 romp over the Sacramento Kings.
Jameer Nelson led the way, hitting 5-of-5 from beyond the arc, as Sacramento connected on 23-of-37 shots from long range.
Overall, nine players hit 3-point shots for the Magic. Keith Bogans and J.J. Re had four apiece, while Hedo Turkoglu and Rashard Lewis each had three.
The record-breaking trey was hit by seldom-used Jeremy Richardson, a 6-7 forward from Delta State, with 2:15 left to make it 136-99.
Bogans added another long-range shot to cap the scoring for Orlando.

Oh please. That's dumb
Considering that's pretty much exclusively what they do (and especially when DH is getting double teamed which i'm assuming he would be in this game) it's not surprising.
Actually it's not. The Magic tossing this many three's and playing little defense will not get them far in the playoffs.
Orlando is white-hot, and NOBODY seems to notice. If they can beef up their frontcourt depth behind Howard, they are going to be an absolute sonofa to deal with in the playoffs.
So according to tlong, the Magic are in trouble.
In all fairness they're ranked top 5 in points allowedper 100 possessions.
And they're a jump shooting team , they can't help that.
So I don't think they'll get very far in the playoffs... lose in 2nd round to Celtics or Cavs IMO
We're playing top 3-4 defense IIRC.
Yeah they are top 5 in ppg allowed overall as well. Didn't realize that.
Cavs in 5.
That bs is gonna stop come playoff time and then we'll see what the Magic are really made of.
Theres such a stigma against 3 point shooting teams its ridiculous. If we got by shooting a lot of threes but at a bad clip (we're top 3 in the league in percentage even though we take 26 a game) then I can understand it... we've gone through a bunch of slug it out games this year and won. Actually the Spurs pretty much play the same way.
69 pts from 3s. Who won?
BOS game = Loss
DET game = Loss
It's not their 3 point shooting specifically, but what it represents and the fact that they've shown they can't beat a team that gets physical with them in the PO's. They're a little soft. I mean they play Rashard Lewis at the 4.
This style is fanstastic for absolutely crushing teams with their offensive firepower in the reg season and their defense is not bad, but it's not good enough to compensate when a team can shut one facet of their offense down.
Dwight is great, but he hasn't exhibited a strong low post move(s) that are successful consistently and under pressure. If a team doesn't have to double team him, the Magic get a little lost.
They had 7 in the first quarter alone.
Hedo had 8 assists- 6 of those on three-pointers.
The weather might affect they shots right?![]()
Amazing. Orlando has been playing some fantastic basketball lately. Right now, them and Cleveland are playing at a higher level than any other team in the league. the Lakers and Celtics.![]()
lol, I would love to have SD around right now to see what he would say about that game, and how they were shooting some shots.
Before this last game, the Magic were 30-50 in 3 pt shots the previous few games.
Ridiculous.
