to get before the trade deadline who is at least equally good if not better than KT and Fab?

Do we have the proper trade bait to get him?

I have given up on Ian.... for this season.

He is only 6'11, but the guy I want is Channing Frye. I wish there was some way we could pry him from Portland. Too bad they wont take Ime and a future 2nd for him.

In the draft, I would like to get Vyacheslav Kravtsov....7'0 240...

no way we can get Koufos. If Pritchard wasn't such a prick, maybe we could get Frye from them. I think he would be a very nice fit next to Duncan. He is young, athletic, and can run the floor with Mason, Hill, and Manu.

Channing Frye is a little more athletic Matt Bonner...that's about it.

Koufos would be a nice pick up.

Apparently Portland will just renounce Frye this summer, so he could be free to reject the Spurs' MLE offer.

Yeah, he would, because he'll be a stud in 3 years. No way the Jazz give up on him.

What about one of Presti's bigs? Joe Smith has an expiring 4.75mil contract which would fit nicely with Fab+Vaughn (and a second rounder)... and don't laugh, but when they move Watson they might actually WANT Vaughn as a backup for Westbrook and general good locker room guy. Smith can still rebound and block shots, as well as hitting the 18fter, but he is old. Unlikely.

Wilcox is also coming off the books for 6.75mil, but we've got nothing to match that and despite the fact that he can rebound, he's no shot-blocker and a total space cadet.

We could take a plunge on Robert Swift or Saer Sene!

PS I've just gone through all the possible teams and salaries and this is what we're left with:

    Donyell Marshall 1.26mil
    Franny Elson 1.7mil
    JaVale McGee 1.39mil
Calvin Booth 1.14mil Mark Madsen 2.63mil
Channing Frye 3.16mil Ike Diogu 2.91mil
    Brian Skinner 1.26mil

    Ugh.

Of that list, it'd be a wild punt, but McGee can run and block shots (although I doubt his Bball IQ is up to learning our system in 2 months), and Skinner actually looks okay - good weakside helper, can rebound, may be available when Zach or Chris come back for the Clips... and they could do with a backup PG!

It's very sad when your best hope is Brain Skinner though...

The best guy that's available is sitting behind the Spurs bench in a suit.

    tiago splitter.

    it had to be said.

good news is the center the spurs need doesn't have to do a lot. just grab 8-10 rebounds, block a shot or two, and be able to stay between his man and the ring. if he can match kt's effectivity, i'll be happy.

Dirk might be availabe for the right cir stances. Him and Duncan would be one of the greates frontcourts to ever be created.

Amare and Duncan or Dwight and Duncan would be better than Dirk and Duncan.
