That's similar to saying JJ Barea is the Mav's pg of the future.
Landry may be in the process of being groomed to fill the shoes of T-Mac. The guy's efficiency numbers are off the charts. Add a 3 pts shot and he'll be unstoppable. Landry is 6'8" tall 250 lbs roughly the same height as T-Mac and he's younger and more athletic.
That being said, I was right about Landry refusing to get his knee scoped in the offseason. Right now Battier and T-Mac are still gimping around after getting their knees scoped.

Landry is a below average defender with an inconsistent shot and little ballhandling ability. His efficiency numbers are off the charts because every basket he gets come from someone setting him up or cleanup around the rim. I like the guy to but, don't make him into something that he's not. As far as T-Mac being injured I call bull . Brandon Roy had the same surgery in August and hasn't limped on the court or missed a game this season, so why is Tracy still hurting? I know different people heal at different rates but the only person that heals that slowly is an AIDS patient.
Then Battier is a wuss too cause he's still hurt and got his surgery at the same time. Alston got scoped too but it looks like he's ok. You never know how long and what effect surgery has on a person. Some bounce back fast and some are slow as molasses.
landry last yr, yes.
This yr, no.
I liked him better when he would dunk on whoever was standing in front of him, his midrange is smooth now though.
And ^^ guy, the reason Landry can be a go to guy is he is an EXCELLENT finisher and can post anyone up. Its only his 2nd yr in the league.
Landry is just gonna get better. Go to guy now? No but he has proven that he can put up 20-10 when given enough minutes.
For that matter, Scola can put up 20-10 when given minutes too. I would like to see both these guys on the court at the same time.
exactly, but wth happened to his dunks? I've never seen a player dunk so often as he did last season, ever shot. Now he barely dunks anymore
Those were eye-popping dunks but look. Nobody went to the hole with as much authority as Landry. Not T-Mac, not Yao, and not Battier. Landry's professional career will last a lot longer if he doesn't dunk as much and extends his range out. This makes him a much more versatile player.
If we put Landry out there at Small Forward, I think his production could well offset T-Mac if he gets traded which right now I would say is a certainty. We just need a good point guard and we're set to go. Scola gets us a lot of points at PF and Yao is just big guy who can light it up too and clog up the lane. We can play Von Wafer at SG and get someone like D-Wade to play the point.
Landry's size is more like a SF's but he's too slow compared to most SFs. His slowness doesn't matter on the offensive end though, it's definitely a big hole in defense.
Yep. I pray to God this is the Spurs' excuse for not acquiring him, because by my count they only had about three opportunities so far.
