Wow witty come back.
What next, a "your mommas so fat" joke?
God the 15 year olds that are starting to post are so lame.
If it doesn't work out he's gone in ten days.
That's what they mean when they say it's a ten day contract.

Chill the out guys... it's a 10 day contract for Christ's sake.
Is he bald yet?

Spurs make a low-cost bet on Croshere
By Jeff McDonald
The Spurs have 10 days to see if 33-year-old Austin Croshere is a good fit.
PHILADELPHIA -- The Spurs are under no delusions that 33-year-old Austin Croshere is the missing piece that will make the Los Angeles Lakers quake in their hightops. But they do think Croshere can help. It is a low-cost bet. He has 10 days to prove to the Spurs that he can be worth their while.
"It's the kind of thing we'll often do during the year," Gregg Popovich said this morning, after Croshere's first shootaround with the Spurs at the Wachovia Center. "We'll take a look at other people, in this case a veteran who has been a solid player in the league. We have 10 days to let him get used to what we do and see if he fits into the program in some way."
Popovich has a history, from Glenn Robinson to Damon Stoudemire, of taking fliers on past-their-prime veterans, if the price is right. At his best, Croshere -- a 6-10 forward whose primary skill is perimeter shooting -- could provide for the Spurs what they had hoped to coax out of Anthony Tolliver, but couldn't.
Croshere, a 11-year veteran, became available on Jan. 6, when Milwaukee waived him to avoid guaranteeing his contract. When the Spurs contacted him shortly thereafter, Croshere says he was "instantly interested" in joining them.
It is his first time to play on a 10-day contract.
"I don't even know a lot of the rules that go along with that," Croshere said. "It's the way this worked out. You don't question it. You just try to make the most of it. I'm very thankful for the opportunity."
Croshere will wear No. 22 with the Spurs, instead of the 44 he donned at each of his four previous NBA stops. That number is retired in San Antonio, having belonged to Hall of Famer George Gervin.
And you are responding to them at the age of____?
28.
What's your point kid?

15th Man. 10 Days. It's not that serious.
It is 10 days wasted diving the NBA's dumpster.![]()
How is it "wasted"? He might come in a few minutes, grab a couple boards and go back to the bench. Or he might just sit there. Either way, it's nothing that's going to damage the Spurs. You are acting like he's taking a starting spot for 10 days.
If you guys hurry you may still be able to get back Coby Dietrick!![]()
28? What is your syndrome called?![]()
Not exactly a ringing endorsement."It's the kind of thing we'll often do during the year," Gregg Popovich said this morning, after Croshere's first shootaround with the Spurs at the Wachovia Center. "We'll take a look at other people, in this case a veteran who has been a solid player in the league. We have 10 days to let him get used to what we do and see if he fits into the program in some way."
The thing that I don't understand is it'd make more sense to 10-day a few younger bigs to see if they can find anything and then fallback on the known quality in Croshere. Perhaps multiple teams were offering Croshere a 10-day deal and the Spurs wanted to get the first look . . .
Can someone tell me why we picked up Austin Croshere!! yes another old guy I just dont get it. They need a big man to play defense.
Spurs sound like an old broken record!

What does it matter if its now or later.
Honestly, there really isn't any quality defensive bigs out there that will come. Its just an unfortunate reality.
Yesterday, you were totally against signing Croshere, saying that it was going to take minutes away from Bonner, send Bonner a bad signal and blow his confidence, etc. Now today, you think it's a good deal. What changed? Just curious.
Because Croshere isn't going to prove much one way or another in a 10-day contract. He is what he is -- a washed up perimeter four.
It'd make more sense to test the waters, see if anything more interesting is out there and if not .. then settle for Croshere.
Well, it seems to me that this time could be better used to scout and zero in on...lets say...another BIG man before Feb 19th. Someone who might actually come in handy in the playoffs now that it is virtually certain that the Spurs will be there. This guy has been dumped by some of the worst teams in the NBA...I mean what's next? Are the Spurs gonna go after Bill Panasonic Killer's much-hyped Greek superstars...
Sheeesh!!!![]()
I think there are some bigs out there!! Spurs might have to travel a bit to get a look at them. Like take a trip to MARS or something.
He did the same thing with ESPN, one day he says he is done with that show , the next day he calls in to tell them how good their show is!
Tpark flip flops more than the pancakes at Ihop on a Sunday afternoon!![]()
So you think all scouting will stop because Croshere is on a 10 day contract?![]()
If anybody watched the spurs-lakers game you saw us just get beat up on the inside. We need a a big space-taking get called for 3 seconds in the lane big guy. I dont care if he stinks on the offensive end, just needs to rebound and block.
Pop is about a fresh as a ZZ top concert!
