Yesterday, you were totally against signing Croshere, saying that it was going to take minutes away from Bonner, send Bonner a bad signal and blow his confidence, etc. Now today, you think it's a good deal. What changed? Just curious.
I still do. I don't think much of the signing, my question lies in, what difference did it make to sign him now, or wait till March. Honestly in reality I think theres nothing out there. Squat, and Spur fan has to realize that, they all act like theres this factory out there churning them out and the Spurs are just choosing NOT to sign em for some reason.

If anybody watched the spurs-lakers game you saw us just get beat up on the inside. We need a a big space-taking get called for 3 seconds in the lane big guy. I dont care if he stinks on the offensive end, just needs to rebound and block.
    So who?

Because Croshere isn't going to prove much one way or another in a 10-day contract. He is what he is -- a washed up perimeter four.

It'd make more sense to test the waters, see if anything more interesting is out there and if not .. then settle for Croshere.

Understood. IMO, which means jack squat, I just don't see anything out there that jumps out. Even Chump readily admits the bigman talent pool is VERY shallow in the D League. outside of that? There is really squat available, and I doubt any teams that have a Theo Ratliff will be willing to part with said player.

I know my neighbor is a big guy about 285 6'11 just turned 58, maybe the spurs could sign him to a 10-day contract. "I seen his jumper"

If it doesn't work out he's gone in ten days.

That's what they mean when they say it's a ten day contract.
Yeah but what the FO is going to learn about this guy in 10 days ? they already know everything about him I guess. I guess it's just to check is he is in shape.

Well, it seems to me that this time could be better used to scout and zero in on...lets say...another BIG man before Feb 19th. Someone who might actually come in handy in the playoffs now that it is virtually certain that the Spurs will be there. This guy has been dumped by some of the worst teams in the NBA...I mean what's next? Are the Spurs gonna go after Bill Panasonic Killer's much-hyped Greek superstars...

    Sheeesh!!!

    Like who??

Please, name names, you'd be the first to out of all the armchair know it all GMs to name one.

seriuosly if the spurs are always complainging out they dont have the money to sign a big free agent. Now we know the reason its because they waste 500K a year on 10-day contracts.

So you think all scouting will stop because Croshere is on a 10 day contract?
They cannot devote themselves TOO much for the task. Besides, I have an investment to protect. I didn't pay all that money to see NBA dregs on the floor. And should I ever want to do so, Dallas is just 200 miles North.

You get to see 3 all stars on the floor every night. Every team rotates through its share of scrubs. Croshere is a decent player who can maybe take some pressure off Tim and help him in the paint. If he sucks, he moves on next week. This is about what the Spurs can afford. Nobody wants to trade for whoever the Spurs are trying to get rid of, so they're shopping around for a good deal on someone who is capable of standing in the paint and putting his arms up.

I think we should go for kwame brown in some sort of trade that doesnt really involve us looseing to much. And by saying this i am not implying that Kwame Brown is any good, jus that he is a Big Man that can block shots and rebound, not to mention he's young.
