I have been a fan of his game and I think he could help the Spurs out down the stretch. He is in the last year of his contract, which is about $6.7 million. He plays for OKC, which is ran by Presti. So is there any chance the Spurs can convince Presti to let them borrow Wilcox for several months in exchange for Oberto and Vaughn or something like that?

If there is a chance, would any of you like him added to our roster?

Ive seen him play a few games this season. He cant be worse then Fab and Kurt. But I dont think the Spurs will pick him up. Even if they did, it would be to late imo.

Sure, Presti has a reputation around the league as a gullible rube and would jump at any chance to get Oberto and Vaughn.

I think the Spurs would prefer Collison. They like big guys that can't jump.

    Good choice.

    A Leon Powe type player.

Not smart, but a real banger with some athleticism.

Wilcox is basically Stromile Swift Redux. Great athlete with exciting potential who doesn't show any signs that he'll reach his potential. Like Swift, Wilcox doesn't bother himself too much with playing defense or learning plays offensively.

Wilcox is a very good athlete but an incredibly lazy defender. He averages like .5 blocks per game on his career, when he should be averaging 2 just on his athleticism without much trying.

That said, if the Spurs could get him, they should. But they don't have anyone that OKC would want.

So he is pretty much the epitome of the wasted talent thread.

    Yeah pretty much.

Notorious under-achiever. Is this a contract year for him? If it is, he might be good for a little extra effort.

I could see OKC maybe wanting a bigger SF who also has an expiring contract (Ime) since their forwards are wafer thin. But that's about it. They wouldn't want a 3rd string PG when they have Westbrook, Atkins, and Watson. And why would they trade an athletic big man for an nonathletic big man (Oberto)? Just doesn't make sense.

It would be a rental for the rest of the year. Like someone mentioned earlier, being that it is a contract year and given the fact that he could be playing for a le contender might motivate a little more. Who knows? I don't see why an expiring contract for another expiring contract couldn't happen.

What's Collison contract status anyways? I wouldn't mind shipping off Finley + Ime for a good rebounder like him. He averaged 9+ rebounds/game last year...

Dang!!!! Same # of blocks as Finley? Wow. I had no idea he was that lazy on defense. I thought he was athletic and a pretty good defender. I guess I had the wrong guy.

he handed away thomas when the magic had a better offer on the table. i think he is up for a another favor, although they have too many 1st rounders. eventually they cant afford to sign all those guys they draft

Ok but having a better offer and turning it down isn't equal to accepting a very ty offer.

If they are planning on resigning him, it makes no sense to do this. They'd lose all their rights to him and have to sign him via exceptions. If they don't want him back, then you might be on to something if there's still some benefit out of it (like a draft pick).

In your scenario, there's no benefit for them, and in fact, there's a negative in your scenario. If they take back more players then they get, they'd have to waive players from their squad before completing the trade, which can get sticky.

You can find that at any rec center or JuCo. Those players won't help us either.
