So you admit you know nothing about the complications of his injury.

Long Live Spurs Fans See You In The Playoffs
We coulda had Darius Miles (who, interestingly enough, still is not listed as a player either on NBA.com or on the Grizz' web roster). He was right there, plus we could have been the ones screwing Portland ...![]()
But I thought you were an M.D.?
i guess he can help in rebounds , but still not sure
Ditto-
I can understand the feeling of some here thinking "it's just a 10 day contract it cant hurt" Now although his skills wont don't add to anything that we already have and wot hurt us. It's still a roster spot thats now taken where we could have used it to look for a player that does fit our needs. So in a way yes this does hurt us.
I know there isn't much out there and that alot of teams have the same needs, but isn't that more so a reason to keep that roster spot open in hopes in finding some kind of talent?
I'm not understanding what the spurs front office is doing waiting around right now. Are they just waiting around hoping for a player to just come to them?
I don't know, but why are we not looking at some D-Leaguers.. there was a reason why that league was formed wasn't there...
Judas has character issues...he wouldn't fit in.
There's enough body of work available for us to know what Croshere is and what he isn't. Personally, I would've rather seen them give Sims a 10-dayer, for starters.
Which games did he play for the Spurs? Do you have the box scores?
I would have preferred a couple of tryouts, but as LJ said maybe there was compe ion for Croshere. That and only one big man has been called up from the D-League -- not Sims.
On a side note though. I think our best bet would be trying to go for Theo Rattlif...
Now if this signing means there is a trade in the works for him then I"m all for it
Ratliff would be a perfect addition for us. He would come in and give us 10-15 minutes where he could bring rebounds and defencive pressure in the paint.
I know he is up there in age as well but we would only be needing him for a few minutes a game and from what I have seen from him he is looking pretty good shape wise. Also bare in mind that this is for a bench player so we don't need an all-star. Just someone that can provide the team with what they need most.
Looking at a D-Leaguer isn't the same investment than looking at Croshere.
If you want that the D-Leaguer has a chance to be effective if Spurs need him during the playoffs, you have to give hims some consistent playing time.
On the other hand, Croshere is a plug and play guy. Spurs will test if he is in good shape and if he has still something left in the tank during one or two 10 days contract. If the answer is yes to both questions, Croshere is a player that can play solid minutes at any point of a playoff campaign even if he has only plays some garbage minutes during the regular season (like Tony Massenburg).
The question is why Spurs aren't ready to invest on a D-League bigman ?
The obvious answer is that they find that none is worth the investment.
Another reason is that Pop must still bring back one player (Oberto) back in the bigman rotation and maybe two with Mahinmi.
Well Judas was a key component of making the trade work ...
Mike Taylor claiming he broke it before Burns.
Trying to take your skin off the Wall PB!
could be sweet. we'll have to wait and see.
I agree bout the playoff issue. I am not completely sold on bonner yet either. If Croshere can be effective in small minutes then great, trade bait is a good idea also.
LOL....
do-dodooooo...
Hmm...I think Damon Stoudamire got better reception, but he was ROY once...who knows, well see tonight.
+1
Hey Eric are you a reporter?
not happy with yet another washed up big man. i'd rather settle for a d-league player who isn't ready for the nba yet
Very good take Bruno. There's only one thing I'd like to add :
Croshere's career playoff games : 68
Sims' career playoff games : 0
Croshere ( or Croshere type of player ) is much more likely to help the Spurs during the playoffs, after all we'd need him for a few minutes here and there, it's not like you'd expect him to be a difference maker.
Doesn't fill our need for rebounding, but let's see what happen.
Hey, after all, Hill and Mason have been a good surprise (although they DO answer some of our needs)
There were one or two games in the 2000 Finals, Indiana vs. Los Angeles, where he went crazy. He was one of the best Pacers on the floor. He's a decent stop-gap in the Bonner mold, but it's worth a gamble that he can produce like that again.
