No one is saying you should panic, but to say that the only game that matters is the one Celtic win is absurd. So the Lakers can do no wrong for the rest of the season because they passed their one and only test this year? It makes no sense. Many Laker fans state that the team does not care about the mediocre teams, but does care about making statements against the cream of the crop. If this is true, then these losses, although close and compe ive have to mean something.

Besides that, the game should be very entertaining. Fans are going to use this in the argument of Kobe v Lebron. Although it will be great, real fans know that one game does not define a season or answer a debate.

I do not think they have had one this year, which is pretty crazy. Spurs have the same kind of tough schedule coming up. It will be a massive test for them and they are not playing nearly at the level of the Lakers, and their games are on the road.

I think this game will come down to Kobe hitting a clutch trey to put the Lakers up 4 with .6 seconds to go, followed by Lebron making a double-crab move, taking 5 steps before he chucks a trey while being fouled and missing the game-tying free-throw. At which point the refs will rule a violation and let him try again. Then we go to overtime.

Not even sure. Might have been January 08, while Drew was out, and before Gasol. If it wasn't then, some time during the 06-07 season.

Well Lebron has owned Kobe the past 4 or so matchups, but people will still say Kobe is better. So tonight is a way for Kobe to make himself better than Lebron, but Lebron can never be better than Kobe- even if he scores 41 points and hits the game winner...because that was done last year and Kobe is still so much better than Lebron

I don't have a good feeling about tonight's game. Although, I am glad to hear the Lakers have some injuries, too. Maybe the playing field is even. We'll see.

I never said the game didn't matter. Of course the game matters, every game matters.

But this one doesn't really have the importance that the BOS game did. It's just a regular season game against a very good ball club. The Lakers won't approach it any differently than they did against SAS or ORL.

The Laker team has all the confidence in the world. Losing in January won't change that come playoff time.

What if the Celtics beat you next time you play? Which game will be more telling, the Lakers first win or that loss?

Also, are you trying to say that Orlando which has a better record than the Lakers (same amount of losses, 2 more wins) and that swept the Lakers is not a better team?

    Lakaluva sends his thoughts....
Do me a favor and tell these sucking Spurs fans that Lakaluva said this will be an easy win for us tonight. And even if we lose, its only because we dont care about games in mid-January like the rest of these teams that dont have a smorgersborg of les like we do.

Do to my self-imposed suspension, I will not be here to brag on how much better Kobe is than Queen James, but they will feel me in spirit.

P.S. To all Spurs fans... everytime you hear the toilet flush, thats the sound of your le hopes going down the ter.

But that still breaking the rules. Leaving for a month means no communication whatsoever. That includes sending messages through his lackeys.

    DrHouse,

I actually agree with you on this one. The Lakers will approach this game as they would any other one in mid-January. I believe the "statement game" in the regular season is so overrated.

I believe they will win tonight in a tight game.

Funny how the Celtics game in December is a statement game, but the loses to the Spurs and Orlando in January are just another game...have to love that logic.

I know that logic from Lakers fans seems backwards to us Spurs fans. But, I could see from their perspective how important that regular season game against the Celtics was for the Lakers.

But I still believe the statement game in the regular season is so overrated...though!!!

la hasn't done anything to prove to anyone that they deserve to be respected so much that they can just let go of the pedal and expect to gear up in time for the playoffs. no one cares about who loses in the finals.

when they win a championship, then we can talk. As of today, they've still got the same number of les they had the first day Kobe was designated the leader of the team: zero.

If Lakers lose to the cavs tonight they'll be 1-3 against the top elite teams.

I'd say that's cause for concern. regardless of it been a regular season game.

Gonna be tough tonight. Without Z, we don't have a seven-footer anywhere on the roster, while the LakeShow will have two on the floor. Andy has been an absolute non-factor the last few games. Mo will have to have a big game. Fisher shouldn't be able to check him. I'm thinking LakeShow in a close one.
