One of the toughest, sure.
One of the most over-dramatic, absolutely.
Necessary thread, hardly.
Last I checked, Tim Duncan took a team on a le run with one barely recovering ankle to start, then TWO bum ankles midway through the playoffs ... then the very next season nearly did it again despite having plantar fascitis all year, including his most dominant 7-game series performance ever against a defensive-minded ball club (the 06 Mavericks). Tim was about the same age as Kobe is now as well ...
Tim's 05 Playoff Stats:
37.8MPG
23.6PPG
12.4reb
2.7ast
Tim's 06 Playoff Stats:
37.8MPG
25.8PPG
10.5reb
3.3ast

LOL. It's never really about Kobe to LakeShow fan, is it?
At least Kobe is one of the toughest. Cannot think of anyone tougher right now.
Exactly what I thought after watching some 4th quarters meltdowns from Kobe in the playoffs
(Game 7 vs Phoenix in 2006, or game 6 vs Boston last year)
But yeah, Kobe is the toughest player during the regular season
wooot! Im the first Lakers fan other than the OP in this thread!! Shows that not all Lakers fans have boners for Kobe like DrHouse.![]()
Good for you.![]()
Otherwise you'd become a laughing stock of the thread, or better a punching bag for all of us to feel really good.![]()
All players play with injuries, it just seems Kobe gets the most pub because he's in the spotlight. Is he tough....for sure that can't be questioned.
kobe is definitely a tough player. but i have a dislocated pinky right now too and it hurts but honestly you can still shoot.
dont get me wrong, im not disagreeing, but the finger crap is not all that hard to play with. hes done other things to prove hes tough but this whole finger thing is blown out of proportion.
Kobe didn't have surgery because he did not want to miss any time in camp or the season, thus he will have surgery this offseason as the olympics will not play a part. Now back on the topic of taking over the fourth quarter with a dislocated ring finger. 1/25/09, 2/5/09
