I was heavily into this series when it first aired and even went on the ABC boards to read the nuts' theories on the backbone of the plot.

Early on the directors said everything could be summed up by real science or something to that effect.

I knew they would have to stretch the finale to tie everything together, but a time-traveling "island"? LOL
