Gary Payton and Kenny Smith went at it on TNT, with GP saying Tim Duncan and KG should not start, instead it should be Bosh and Al Jefferson.

I guess for GP the fact that the Celtics are the Champs and a top 3 team in the East and the Spurs being a top gun in the West means nothing. Give it to Bosh and Jefferson playing on garbage squads.

Maybe or maybe not but that is what the fans wanted. And in the end the games is for the fans and who they want to see. It could have been worse. YI could have been the starter or Sue from the Lakers.

Amare has really had a weak season. I am surprised he has gathered more votes this year than he has in the past.

But Melo has not exactly been great this season either
Bosh = empty stats. He disappears when he faces tough opponents and in big games, his defence is highly unreliable. He can't lead a team (at least at this point of his career), his rebounding and scoring are inconsistent from quarter to quarter, his teammates don't know what to expect from him. Lots of potential and nice stats, but he's not All-NBA material.
Big Al is fun to watch, but too inefficient with his scoring.
Dirk and Granger are having better seasons than Bosh and Jefferson. About who starts in the ASG, who cares? It's not supposed to be a meritocracy, there are the All-NBA teams for that.
That said, I hope Garnett has a light injury before the game and stays at home.
