I dont think about entertainment enough to dislike anyone besides the obvious ones (Cook, Hilton, etc).

Next is a movie, thats all it was. I didnt watch it thinking "Oh, its Oscar time!" then get disappointed somehow when it was categorized as an action flick.

cage was great in the few, non-Bruckheimer films hes done (never seen Weatherman). Theyve already been mentioned.

But I do have an odd movie habit. Tom Cruise. Despise the man for no good reason in real life for being a wacko with outrageous demands on movie studios, propogating Hollywood religions and the like. Yet, if War of the Worlds is on, you can be damn sure I am watching it. Same with the Mission Impossible series, Few Good Men, even Valkyrie looks ok knowing how it ends (duh).

Other than that, I look at movies individually with really no idea who is behind the camera beforehand (dont care too much for Hollywood or what theyre selling). Grindhouse ing sucked. So did Jackie Brown. Does that mean I shouldnt like Rodrieguez or Tarentino (sp? I dont give a )?

No, because Dusk til Dawn and Resevoir Dogs are classic. I just dont look at it that way. There are highs, there are lows and some last longer in one of those stages than others.

Even though I used to play Madden with the dude, Morris Chestnut. His movies are just not my cup of tea. He was great in Boyz in the Hood though.
    Morris Chestnut's movies are fantastic.

    On mute.

If you fastforward to the scenes he's in.

I think he's bored and unhappy with what he's done lately. I caught a Charlie Rose interview with him where he depressingly more or less said he only did American Gangster for the money. Actually, outside of The Great Debators, I think he's been doing everything for the money in recent years. He should chill, take a couple years off. Quit doing these lame ass, cliche, Man on Fire, Inside Man, John Q type of roles. He's a better actor than the guy who's been doing these weak "thriller" films.
Agreed with most, but thought Inside Man was great. Maybe not Denzel specifically, but I liked the film and thought Clive Owen and Chewitel Ejiofor were really good.

Oh, and Renee Zellwegger or whatever.

Of course with the "Me, Myself, and Irene" exception.

Tarantino started out at the top of his game but he has been on a downward spiral ever since.

Matter of taste, really. I'd probably put Jackie Brown as my least favorite of his films, which was right in the middle of his career (so far).

I'm an unabashed fangirl, though, because even as my least favorite of his films, I still think Jackie Brown is pretty awesome.

This sounds like it might be pretty sweet.

Oh, and for awhile there when he was popular, I avoided Ron Schnieder movies like they had the plague.

Jackie Brown is the shiiiit. I can't possibly believe you liked Death Proof more than that, you seem like too smart of a girl.

If I'd only ever seen the double feature of Death Proof, it would definitely be at the bottom of that list, but I really liked the full length version. The filmmaking itself, pacing in particular, I thought was incredibly smart, especially when compared to the type of film he was trying to emulate.

Benicio Del Toro totally creeps me out. He's a good actor, in decent movies that I cannot see because he makes my skin crawl!
I saw him hanging out at the Continental one night in Austin. A friend of mine went up and talked to him and he turned out to be a really cool guy. Totally laid back (damn tall, too).

Well that's nice. I suppose I'm going to have to give him another chance Also I kinda want to see "Che" and see why it was totally ignored by the Academy

Because it's four hours and 17 minutes long (or so). And because, from what I've heard, is made of up and absolutely brilliant and engaging first two hours, followed by a second half that changes in tone and style and that is wholly unnecessary.

I was aware of the length, but sometimes it seems not to matter. I've read/heard several interviews with Soderbergh and Del Toro and both talked about the 2 parts of the film and how they don't have a dialogue with each other and that editing it down to one film was impossible. I also found it interesting that the intended project grew having no bounds because of the lack of factual information. Del Toro talked about meetings he had with actual companions of Che at the time of his death, and they all gave different accounts of who, why and where. Then 2 hours later everyone changed their story! I'll check it out, but it'll be tough to best "The Motorcycle Diaries".

It is (or will be) available to watch in two parts, as well. I definitely want to see it because I love Soderbergh as a director and have heard that the performances, especially Del Toro, are amazing. Bit of a tough sell for the Academy, though.

I finally watched Valkyrie last night. The Bluray was on sale, so I bought it. It was a pleasant surprise considering I haven't liked any other Tom Cruise movies since 1995. I liked all his movies 1994 and earlier. just not the later work.

Now I like most of Wesley Snipes movies. I can do without "To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar," and I especially liked "U.S. Marshals."

I don't like Daniel Craig as James Bond. Too much a departure from the previous actors.

What movies do you see someone in and say to yourself "Not watching that crap" or, "Well, I ALMOST thought about watching that one, but nah...hate that dude/chick"

There's plenty for me but some popular answers include Keanu Reeves, Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, Ben Affleck, Denzel Washington, and even Vince Vaughn.

I gotta admit I haven't seen a movie with ANY of these "actors" in a while, but the longest is Denzel. Should have seen American Gangster but he overacts so much can't even bring myself to see that...

    Steven Seagal

    Eddie Murphy

    Miley Cyrus

    Sigourney Weaver

And the last time I went to a comedy of any sort or color in the movie theater, I was in High School.

Took 5 pages for a Paul Walker reference...

Him and Tyrese in 2 Fast 2 Furious may have been the worst, stereotypical piece of acting pair ever...

Also anything with Zac Efron, Channing Tatum or some pretty boy that gets roles because 12 year old girls think they're good actors.
