Well, I've been hearing for the last year or so about how the country needs change. It's such an overrated saying...but it got a new president elected and sworn in this week.

However, in professional sports (and most of life) consistency, continuity, and stability is what counts.

So, I decided to look at the most consistent franchise in the last 10 years and what their record was at the halfway point (41 games) of the season.

I went back 7 seasons for the Spurs:

5)2006-2007: 28-13 (after 41 games) ended with a 58-24 record and won the NBA le!

6)2007-2008 28-13 (after 41 games) ended with a 56-26 record and reached the WC Finals.

That's an average of 28 wins after 41 games and an average of 58 wins in those seven seasons. And reaching at the least the WC Semifinals!!

That's incredible consistency, stability, and continuity!!

I hope the Spurs fans appreciate what we have and don't take this for granted because there many other professional sports franchises would love to have the success the Spurs have had in this era I call the Spurs Golden Age.

Based on those numbers, I will predict they will end up with a 56-26 or 57-25 record and win the NBA le!! (I know that will get the Lakers fans riled up about that prediction)

ST Posters where do you think the Spurs will finish the season and how far will they go in the playoffs?

    C'mon man.

Bush is a joke, i still can't believe how he got re-elected in 04?

The guy has made some seriously bad decisions over the past 8 years.

If we're just looking at the win/loss totals from the last six years, the Spurs have averaged 31 wins in the second half of those seasons.

So, based on averages alone that would mean the Spurs are destined to win 59 games this year.

    Scanry,

I dont want to turn this into a political thread.

However, Bush kept this country safe for seven years after 9/11 and no one in the liberal media has given him credit for that. Because if there was another attack during his presidency...he would have never live that down until the day he died.

Yes, he made some mistakes (as all Presidents have) and I believe history will view him more favorably than what people think. He made some good decisions as well and it always easier to look at a politican's bad decisions if you don't like him than his good decisions.

To write that Bush is a joke is unfair and unrealistic. President Obama will find its easy to make campaign promises being a Senator from Illinois running for President than now being the President. He will have information...that no one else will and he will have to make decisions from that vantage point.

I'm tired of the over-the-top Bush bashing. You can be critical and he deserves some of it...but everything he did wasn't terrible and being a leader you have to make decisions from the information that's available to him whether its popular with the American public or not.

Bush will easily be one of the 5 worst Presidents in US history. The past 8 years have been amongst the darkest in American history and has McCain won the election this country would've gotten even worse.

It is stunning that a President as bad as Bush was not only elected once but twice. Thank god the US voters got their act together and voted for the right guy this time around.

Again...that's your opinion and you are en led to it. But to stay that Bush will be one of the 5 worst presidents in US History is pure speculation at this point.

And the popular vote was 52%-48% for Obama. So there was a lot of people who didn't vote for Obama. That's their choice!

But when people make blanket statements or generalizations about a president and their decisions while in office.....it's never all one way or the other!

Bush deserves some criticism...but he deserves some praise and there has to be balance and people don't view totality of a person...only the things don't like he did or if they don't like him.

yeah, i say the spurs finish with 56-26, and win in six games, vs the celtics, though.

i want to see lebron cry as he misses the game winner in game seven vs the celtics (EF game)

I stand corrected...but not a landside with the popular vote.

50-41% is a landslide...like Reagan and Carter in the 1980 election.

    Sorry...that's a terrible analogy!!

Because if there had been another attack during his presidency....you would have been posting everywhere he couldn't keep the country safe.

The fact it didn't happen...when plenty of pundits and media types predicted it....deserve credit.

    Spurs basketball at its best....

44 presidents since 1789 is plenty time to figure out he was one of worst presidents. He was a dumbass and Cheney did the reach around on his presidency because of Bush's oblivious nature.

It's because of BUSH that we:
-have lost so many lives in a nonsensical war, WMD's anyone?
-are losing 100's of thousands of jobs
-have health care privatized and it sucks!
-saw a disgraceful Katrina intervention (nice homeland security)
-Denied global warming and are getting a late start on saving our environment
    -continued illegal torture at Gitmo

Sorry just stating the obvious. Neo-Republican's can't see the obvious.

    Go SPURS!!!

Failed sarcasm from another pretentious republican...look at your list compared to mine. Peanuts...
We learned in the 80's that a VERY small percentage of lazy people live off welfare. That's just you being pretentious. People on welfare need actual help...if you are talking about tax money....think about how much tax money is taken from you because of the war he started!!!

He deregulated the financial system...so yes it was his fault.
