A better debate is who is better, a healthy Dwayne Wade or Kobe.

Neither belongs in the same breath as the King

That was a great shot by LeBron tonight, gotta give him props for that.

But even guys like Eduardo Najera can hit game winners once in awhile. Let's wait until LeBron does it a little more often before we change his name to King Clutch. Let's not forget he had a couple of bricks in a similar clutch situation to the Bulls just a week or two ago.

LeBron already has a clutch performance in the playoffs that trumps anything Kobe has done in his career. That rampage against Detroit in 06 in one of the best of all time.

That was one great performance. If Kobe had only one great performance, we wouldn't be talking about him now.

Kobe's tied MJ in game winners, but for LeBron we're talking about 1 great performance years ago and a game winner tonight for LeBron plus another one from january last year I think. Kobe's had almost 3 just this month.

Give LeBron some time to improve his clutchness. He'll get it if he works at it.

It might be one but its one thats better than any of Kobe's. You can talk strictly game winners - but most people define clutch as the last 2 minutes of a game and overtime. LeBron has better numbers than Kobe in those situations.

I still think Kobe is more clutch, and i would rather him taking the last shot between the two - but LeBron is DOMINANT down the stretch - numbers back that up. Thats all im sayin.

There is no doubt that LeBron is dominant.

I can even buy into the argument that he's the most dominant 43 minute player. I just think at this point, Kobe's still more clutch and if the game was on the line, I'd rather have the ball in Kobe's hands.

Ever since that year where Lebron beat the Wizards twice in that same round in the playoffs....he has been extremely clutch. Numbers prove it. He may not hit the actual game winning shot, but he takes over down the stretch. One reason is because he is willing to pass it to guys like West with the game on the line.

Allanon, he had a stretch in the second period last night, when the Cavaliers were down 12, where he completely took over the game on both ends, scoring, passing, defending. An unstoppable force on one end, a total disrupter on the other. Brought them back practically single-handedly (he did have a little help from 12th man Tarence Kinsey).

I understand what you're saying about preferring Kobe in the last couple of minutes. Can't knock it. But to me, clutch plays can happen at any time in a game. LeBron's second period was clutch. His team was struggling, they needed a spark, needed a momentum shift, and he provided it. That, to me, is clutch play, regardless of the time of the game.

FAIL. Clutch play = closing time. What you are describing is just a great player playing a great second quarter. No knock on Lebron, but dont try to RE-DEFINE words.

So define when closing time is. Is it the last two minutes? What about if there are four minutes left and a player brings his team back from 8 down?

YOUR fanbase is the one being hypercritical here. There has been very little bashing of Kobe from legitimate posters in this thread.

I would like to say, if we're going there, that had Kobe not had Shaq on his team for several years, he wouldn't be in threads like this either. He has NEVER taken over and dominated a playoff series like LeBron did against the Pistons.

However, the reasons I bumped the thread is simple -- when LeBron hits a game winner or performs in "clutch time", whatever the you Lakers fans want to define that as -- this thread gets bumped.

Okay, so you tell me what "closing time" is. Is it the last possession? Last minute? Last five minutes? Entire fourth quarter?

How am I "re-defining" a term that has no concrete definition in the first place?

Lastly, are you telling me that clutch plays can't be made at any point in a game? I COMPLETELY disagree with that. In a one-point game, like last night's, the winning team needs EVERY play it gets, whether it's in the second quarter or the last second.

Closing time is definatley not in the second quarter.

OMG man. You're like a second grader. YES i am telling you that CLUTCH plays CANT be made anytime during the game. There is a reason why its called CLUTCH.

With your logic, I can say "Kobe is the best closer because he had a great 1st quarter." Doesnt make any sense.

You can't say what ISN'T closing time, because you can't say what IS. It's a buzzword with absolutely no real definition. It's also a convenient way for Kobe homers to trivialize the impact LeBron has on a game. Sure, he carried his team for 47 minutes and 59 seconds, but he didn't get the job done in that last second, so he isn't clutch. That's bull .

Clutch plays, winning plays, can be made at ANY point in a game. Only a "second grader" would think only one play at the end of the game matters. The ENTIRE game matters.

Im wasting my time with you. I guess, CLUTCH and CLOSING means "entire" game. Front is back, left is right, dumb is smart.

You're from Cleveland, based on your city's sports history, you guys don't know what clutch is. I cant blame you.

If you can't handle a contrary opinion, just say so. Don't be a ing crybaby. You babble on and on about a word you can't even define, then your response when I pin you down is to run city smack. Up your game.

Wow...you should be a lawyer if you can actually convince people that "closer" or "clutch" can be defined by gameplay in the first, second or let alone third quarter.

    Pin me down?!

You said that a closer or clutch can happen anytime in a game. I dont think i even need to argue this anymore. Your words are enough to make you lose this arguement.

i never knew you can close out the game in the second quarter, but then again, Cavs fans say the last game against the Lakers was a "close" one.
