Let's be honest here, the Suns are not going to win the NBA le this year. I know they are trying to build their team as more of a half court team, rather than the run and gun- but Shaq is getting old, and isn't the kind of guy you want to build your team around at this point in his career. Any chance they would trade him and start rebuilding?

I think that would be a knee jerk move to start rebuilding now, at least see how the playoffs go - If they make it.

They wouldn't get good value for him......if they were to blow it up then they should just cut their losses, do him a favor and trade him for whatever they can get.

    That's what I'm saying

What is the value of a 36 year old Center, still playing at a high level? If you are the Suns you are looking at your best player this year- but the reality is he is 36 and has 2 years left in him at best. He isn't someone you really want to keep as the cornerstone. Your looking at possibly losing Nash and/or Amare in 2010, and the odds are that you are not going to make it out of the West. One thing is for sure, even though Shaq has been playing great, the trade didn't exactly help the Suns and maybe it's time to go in a different direction

Obviously, the only interest I have in this is the Cavs need a big man, and we have expiring contracts contracts that would match Shaq's should the Suns decide it's would be best to cut ties with Shaq Fu and start looking towards a heap of money in 2009

I made a thread last year about Shaq going elsewhere when his contract was up for the MLE. Search my threads started if you care to read it.

Yeah Cleveland makes sense but They are more interested in giving LeBron a long term reason to stay in Cleveland, Amare could go there.

I'm a Cleveland fan so I look at this window of opportunity to close come July so I'm putting all my hopes into this year. We haven't won since the 60's

you are all about to witness some crazy called the Cleveland curse. Trust me, something will happen and the Cavs won't win- I remember watching in 1997 the Indians were in thee bottom of the 9th with a 2-1 lead- Jose Mesa who saved 85 games the previous 2 years, and 85% of games in 97 blows the save, and in the 11th inning a 5x Gold Glove Short Stop Tony Fernandez lets a routine ground ball go right through his legs, which would have been a inning ending double play, but turned out to be the error that led to the winning run.

Plus, the Vegas favorite to win the 1995 Super Bowl was the Cleveland Browns. If the Browns won the Super Bowl, Cleveland would have gone nuts because it is a football town. But the exact opposite of winning the Super Bowl happened in 1995 when the Browns split town for Baltimore.

We are cursed. If we were a major market, you would not hear the end of it. If we were New York, Tony Fernandez would be a bigger goat than Bill Buckner. Something will happen, I know it. Lebron will get in a car wreck, or sprain his fingers playing guitar hero....something will happen
