CP3 is a 1.5, Garnett is a 1.5, Dirk is a 1.5. I'd rather have Chris Paul over Dirk because he's 6 years younger and PG has morphed into the most important position on the court, but wake me up when Paul leads a team to the Finals.
The Mavs perimeter defense has been so bad that they've been lit up in successive postseasons by Steve Nash, Wade, Baron and now CP3. They've been so bad that they almost let Tracy McGrady out of the first round in 2005. Any guard looks like a hall of famer against us. CP3 is great, but he doesn't belong in the Bron/Kobe/Duncan/Wade class. Maybe he'll get there one day, but that day is not here yet.
son Paul is only in his 4th year right now. Give him 10 plus years like Dirk has had to lead a team to the finals and then we will talk. Oh and Paul would finish the job unlike Dirk did .....
If CP3 had Shaq last season, he would have gone further. I don't think D-Wade is in the class of Lebron or Kobe or Duncan.

Dirk put up 27 and 12 against the Hornets. West put up 23 and 8 against the Mavericks.
Dirk is better, and outplayed West in that series. He was smart not to risk a suspension. West is a soft . The Mavs lost that series because the Hornets as a team were much better.
