I actually see a situation where Parker asks for big $ in the future and the Spurs let him go in favor of Hill and salary cap room.
I think Ginobili will take less before Parker will.
Assuming that Ginobili's game fluctuates until the end of the year and settles
down to taking jump shots (similarly to Roger Mason) until the end of his contract ...
the good (long-term): Ginobili cannot demand more money than he is making right now, with a possibility of him being offered less, the Spurs could sign a forth all-star caliber player, while having Mason and Ginobili a very good combo at the 2.
the bad (long-term): unlikely to see Manu being the deciding factor in games to come; if consistency is indeed the issue as aforementioned, then the Spurs need to find other players to step up when playing the best teams in the league (ie: good game for Ginobili, Spurs win vs. Lakers; poor game leads to Spurs loss)
the ugly (short-term): prohibiting any trades until the end of the season, the Spurs do not have what it takes to win another championship
Remember, this is presented under the hypothesis that Ginobili is not consistent in his level of play.
Your thoughts?

Spurs need a big. Tim needs a big. Period. anything less than this, the spurs get swept in the west finals.
Parker is a frickin Allstar.
They aren't even in the same category.
Time warner commercials don't win games...![]()
Spurs need your boy to D up
they dont have to be. If Hill can man the point, Parker better not demand too much or Tim WILL get that help down low.
I'm not sure which is better...Tony and tim or hill tim and boozer(for example)
Tony Parker is one of the best point guards in the nba and is on his way to being a hall of fame player.
And you're talking about Hill????
I am going to bed.![]()
Your missing the point.
Hill can get 10-15 a night, and a boozer would add another 20 with 15 boards. That would be more than enough to make up for tony's 22 a night...
I'm just saying Parker better keep his salary demands reasonable...
parker is a max player. he can move on if he wants to... duncan will be old by the time this happens...why would he stay anyway? duncan can't play forever, he can't dunk as it is now.
I dont understand "max player." he'll make 10 million next year, his final year under k.
If he asks for much of a raise, Hill might be better for the spurs just nased on a cost benefit analysis.
for the record I hope he asks for a reasonable contract and i hope they give it to him. But I'd take Boozer to play with/replace tim anyday.
parker will get a max type contract next time... men's warehouse guarantees it.
Paul Milsap begs to differ.![]()
By the way, Boozer makes 11 million next year.
oh did duncan get a dunk tonight? oh my bad...![]()
dude, utah is not going to do a deal with the spurs for boozer.. come on man...
Naw...this is just what you'd like to see happen.
You're worthless.
2 actually, and they were done with authority.![]()
Not a trade, but Boozer has the option of opting out after this season, he'll be a free agent.
I wouldn't let Parker go/trade him, but I wouldn't pay him more than 12 mill either, and I have a feeling he's going to ask for much more.
Read the rest of my entries before you go shooting off your mouth, especially the one right above this one. Parker's future contract demands scare me, that's all i'm sayin'.
Parker will probably get a close to max contract from the Spurs when his contract is up.
As far as Boozer goes - I don't know why people say they want a shot-blocking, defensive forward and then come up with Boozer![]()
Your worthlessness as a poster was apparent way before this thread was even created.
The fact that you think that Tony isn't worth Max $ and that Hill is ready to take the team over is an absolute joke.
I like the rebounding scoring part.
But in reality, if Parker asks for too much, I think a solid big man might be more valuable IF Hill is coming along.
That being said, if Tiago/Ian/Javtokas/Somebody/Anybody finally show up, Parker would then be worth the money, and I would pay him.
Fact is he's worth max money. And Hill isn't ready to take over the team. And you read worse than a fuggin' sixth grader. So STFU.
