Most NBA games are close games.
Most Spurs games are close games.

What matters in close games is what you do in the last 2, 3 minutes.

You don't want to play a team with Ginobili in a close game. Ever.

    Basketball is very simple.

Some people just don't get it.

Ginobili's worst game ever was G4 of the 07 NBA finals.

    Zero points, 0-8.

Untill the last minute, when he scored 3 (three points).
    All from the line.
3 miserable points with nobody in front of him.

    Spurs won it by 3.

He'll do what it takes to win an important ball game, even at age 45.

Oh, and the same for Bowen, a player that won a playoff game by scoring ZERO points, with a block on the best 7-footer around.

And as we are at it, same for Horry, a guy that won a playoff series with a foul.
    One, single, crucial foul.

When you come across people like these, you just don't part with them unless they are really done.

ST is like the economics cycles: 10 years of recession after 10 years of growth.

It's a shame Joseph Schumpeter / Kondratieff / Juglar are dead, they could have analyzed the 10 days cycle of ST: 10 days of Trade Parker / 10 days of Trade Manu, 10 days of COT vs COM / 10 days of COM vs. COT...

Manu does need to slow down on offense and stop trying to force his passes. Pop needs Hill to run the show when Parker is not in and Hill needs to stay agressive so Manu does not feel the need to be playmaker. Hill needs to run the offense and Manu needs to feed off of Hill. This would help slow down the Manu turn over machine. Manu needs to let the dame come to him and not do a thing different of defense. I love the way he crashed the boards against Utah.

Just a little overboard. I agree though for as many rings he's helped the Spurs win(3) he's taken them away(2).
    Nicely put.

oh yeah, but the 6 turnovers prior didn't mean , did it? He leads the league in turnovers for the month of January. Did you know that?
Why do you lie? He is not leading the league in turnovers for the month of january.

Ginobili is playing kind of bad (for his standards) lately. But considering he isnt getting any younger and is giving 100% effort (this is Manu afterall) you cant blame him.

Spurs cant make a trade good enough that would better their championship chances.

So we win or loose with the current crew. We can just hope he gets in the best shape just when the playoffs start.

    Believe....

Exactly. Ginobili is nowhere close to leading the league in turnovers in ANY month. Ginobili has 30 turnovers in 13 games this month. Is that good? Absolutely not, but it's not nearly as bad as Stephen Jackson's 29 turnovers in only 7 games in January. Or what about LeBron's 47 turnovers in 12 games. Or Nash and Amare having 49 and 44 turnovers respectively in the same number of games as Manu during the month. The list goes on and on. If you go by the last 10 games, there are 49 players in the NBA that committed more turnovers than Manu. If you go by the last 5 games, you'll find 25 guys that committed the same number of turnovers or more.

BTW, one thing that we can be thankful for is that Manu's Steal/TO ratio is rather high and ranks among the league leaders.

If you're behind by 30 with 4mins left in the four, you can have all the Manus you want on your team, that's a defeat.
You've got to be close enough to compete in the first place.

Absolutely Terrible? Your assessment of Manu is.

When Manu is right he is can singlehandedly win a game. How many other SG's out there can do that?

For Manu playing basketball is year round, so after a long layoff its understandable that his timing is off. He sees the plays but his body is not responding like he wants, yet.

It's going to be so sweet when he gets his feel back and is comfortable. He is playing alright basketball making up for his shaky offense with timely plays. That's really enough for now, his rhythym is still being honed, and the newcomers making big contributions to pick up the slack.

Manu with a ed up ankle last year STILL was the huge reason for a Spurs win against the Lakers. Barring any setbacks Manu balling out of control during the playoffs is easily feasible, with a stronger cast of teamates that got their seasoning while Manu was rounding into form.

If Manu was playing PO basketball now it would be a waste plus it would re the growth and the meshing process of Mason and Hill, since they would be relied on less.

    I did read carefully dude.
First, yes Manu is our best closer. Yes he's the guy I want with the ball in the last moments of a close game.
We'll be behind by 20 every game against the top teams if he doesn't show up before the last 3mins. Who cares having the best finisher in the game if you can't be close enough to compete.

    See Spurs-Lakers.

I was refering to the "Most NBA games are close games. Most Spurs games are close games." part.

That's true specially in the playoffs. The Lakers won't beat us with 4 blowouts.

His turnovers have become harder and harder to swallow.

I don't think he's terrible, but I don't have much faith that he will become the player he once was. I think he is going to be injury prone the rest of his career and press to much to make things happen causing him to be a turnover machine like we've seen of late.

Unfortunately, there is a contengent of Spurs fans that won't care if he plays like and the Spurs keep him until he is 52 years old. He will still be doing no wrong.

Playing like we're playing right now, we can't win a 7game serie against them.
The good thing is we're only in January and Manu can take all the time he wants before showing up, I couldn't care less. But comes playoff time don't tell me these spurs can compete without Manu playing like himself for at least 25mins (same goes for Tony and even more for TIM).

13 quality posts in the last 3 years. Numerous kernels of corn coming out of both ends. You mean to tell me Pseudofan is wanting this from him? Is this what she she bakes pies for? Comes to the table, drops the cornbread at the end of dinner and wants her to give him another?

Am I missing something here? what does this guy do that is so impressive? I think he is highly overrated, overpaid, a has been and should move on.

Dude isn't funny. If he wants to demand cherry pies then send him elsewhere.

SpursTalk needs to move on. Sequ and Spork Killer have the jack that could be combined for a pheasant to tandem with ducks.

You all probably won't agree with me because you're kind to folks like Sequ, so I really don't gaf. But I had to say it.
