If they did they would notice Bowens impact on the game every time he steps foot on the court.
You mean, "Every time he steps on a foot on the court?" I miss those tough as nails days of Bruce. He certainly earned his keep back then.

To understand what Bowen has left in the tank, all you have to do is look at how we're playing D when he's on the bench. When he's not out there, we stop about as many people as a wet paper bag.

As for his limited minutes, that's Pop's decision. He can still play 35-38, Pop just want's to save him, while getting our new guys some PT.

It amazes me how little many of you guys understand about Spurs D. Our defense is a team defense, it doesn't hinge on a monster big man (or we never would have won any les). It hinges on guys knowing their assignments and playing smart and aggressive.

Well, no one knows it better than Bruce, and even if he is a step slower, he's still outplaying every other spur on the defensive side of the ball.

And yet still you guys cry day after day for a dominant big man. Spurs defense doesn't need a "clean up" defender to erase mistakes IF we are playing good team D. We've won les with Oberto, Rasho, Nazr and Elson.

I would love to see a dominant big on this team besides TD, but I'm not willing to give up on our top defender because as some of you don't realize, our defense right now is HORRIBLE, we can't get stops on good teams when we need to, and if we are going to close the gap with LA it will be by learning to play Spurs D for 48 mins once again.

At least do you think the money he is taking are OK? He is stealing us. Hill is a of a lot better and is taking 1/4. And Bowen was never a huge player like Manu or Tim or Tony. He was just a nice role player who helped us because of his D.

Problems abound with the idea. For starters, who would want Bowen? I'm not hating on him in the least, he's a huge part of what the Spurs do, but he's a round peg in a round hole with the Spurs. Bowen plays D and offers very limited offense. The Spurs are a team that have enough scoring threats they can field a defensive specialist in heavy minutes plus a coach who emphasizes defense enough to allow that to happen. The list of teams that would want that at a $4 mil price tag is limited. Just off the top of my head the only teams that come to mind are all other teams that are fighting for a championship and probably not in the mood to turn around and just hand the Spurs exactly what they need. This isn't even taking into account that with the ridiculous contracts big men get, there may not even be a player in existence in the league who can fill the spot the Spurs need for a mere 4 mil.

One thing that might make him appealing to other teams outside that highly limited scope is that he's got a contract that comes off the books for the 2010, which would make him just as appealing for the Spurs to hold onto as well.

    Y'all are crazy.

Anyway, mrspurs idea of cutting down the " " posts is a good one. I'm not going to censor anyone, but sometimes you guys cuss just to cuss. There's times when it's fitting to cuss.. "Roger in' Mason for 3", "Ray Allen is a ing Pussy" etc, but every post doesn't have to be littered with it.

    Just a suggestion

You are kidding that he is top Defender. Not any more. At least not against an All-Star. And that is the reason for which we are supposed to have him. We don't want him to defend a player at the level of Ime.

Do you know the meaning of a comma? If you were what you say you were, and not a 15 year old kid, then you would. And for going to all these spurs games for free, having kids, and working for the spurs, meeting them at their houses, and getting pictures with them all, but not being able to reveal any of this, you sure got time to post a ton of garbage on here hating on your favorite team.

funny how Bowen was the only one who could hit a shot against the Lakers. He also has been showing that 18-20 ft jumper this season. I wish he would drive to the basket more, when he does, good things usually happen for the Spurs.

Only a fool would trade Bowen. He is a professional in the finest sense of the word. He is a great guy to have in the lockerroom, because of his work ethic, attention to detail, knowledge of the system, knowledge of opposing players, humility, sense of humor, and chemistry with the players. He is also a pillar in the SA community.

I am so sick of all of you disloyal fans. You disgust me. Yes he has gotten older, and yes he has lost a step or two. However, he is still a very good player, especially on defense. He still has a lot to offer this team and this city. Show some flippin loyalty for crying out loud. It isn't like he is a scrub or a cancer. Just last season he claimed his 5th consecutive 1st Team All-Defense Award.

IMO, you will see more of Bruce after the all-star break. His minutes and productivity should increase. I have a feeling our defense will get better as a result.

This will be his final contract with the Spurs. After everything he has given the team and the city, he deserves to be allowed to finish that contract and retire as a Spur.

You know Im not trying to start any trouble. Ive learned alot in here. And your right about the usage of F words. Sometimes its fitting. I dont put everyone on ignore just because they use that word. People do it because they're allowed to. If you put a censor in here. You would lose more then half the people who come to your site.

Get off your high horse, lady. Stop judging people (this poster, Boston Fans, Oakland Fans, this poster's momma and poppa, Manu for playing in the Olympics). Jesus spent all his life among those who needed him the most: criminals and pros utes, killers, liars and thieves, and some of them probably cursed in his presence. He didn't come in judgment of them...so how do you feel so en led?

It's people like you that spoil the message and the church.
