In case anyone was wondering about Tolliver's status with the Hornets, here it is:

    http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_ar..._day_contract/

The New Orleans Hornets did not extend a second, 10-day contract to forward/center Anthony Tolliver.

Tolliver's contract came to an end after Friday's game against the Golden State Warriors and he did not travel with the team to San Antonio for Saturday's game.

Wouldn't be the worst way to use the 15th roster spot.

Byron Scott is saving that spot for Paul whenever we are in another close game. he will need somewhere to sit Paul during the final minutes.

sons just curious, but about how much do they pay a player for a 10 day contract? I never see them mention the value of it. can't be much (in professional sports terms) ... although im sure its more than many every day working people make in a year lol

    CBA
    Section 6. Minimum Player Salary.
    (a) Except with respect to 10-Day Contracts provided for in Section 9 below, and Rest-of-Season Contracts provided for in Section 10 below, no Player Contract shall provide for a Salary of less than the applicable scale amount contained in the Minimum Annual Salary Scale set forth as Exhibit C hereto.

    (b) No 10-Day Contract or Rest-of-Season Contract (as those terms are defined in Sections 9 and 10 below) shall provide for a Salary of less than the Minimum Player Salary applicable to that player.
    ...

    Section 9. 10-Day Contracts.
    (a) Beginning on January 5 (if a business day) or the first business day following January 5 of any NBA Season, a Team may enter into a Player Contract with a player for the longer of (i) ten (10) days, or (ii) a period encompassing three (3) games played by such Team (a “10-Day Contract”).

    (b) The Salary provided for by a 10-Day Contract shall not be less than the Minimum Player Salary.

    (c) No Team may enter into a 10-Day Contract with the same player more than twice during the course of any one Season. No Team may be a party at any one time to more 10-Day Contracts than the number of players on such Team’s Inactive List.

    (d) No Team may enter into a 10-Day Contract if the length of such Contract, in accordance with the first sentence of this Section 10(a), would extend to or past the date of the Team’s last Regular Season game for such Season.

    (e) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in a Uniform Player Contract, a 10-Day Contract shall be terminated simply by providing written notice to the player (and not by following the waiver procedure set forth in paragraph 16 of the Uniform Player Contract) and paying only such sums as are set forth in Exhibit 1 of such Contract.
    here's an example:
FYI: How much does a NBA 10 day contract pay?
January 16th, 2009 by Dr Hoopz

The signing of F/C Darius Miles to the Memphis Grizzles for a 10 day contract has caused quite the stir. Not only for the NBA, Portland but for the writers at LA Hoopz. The Hoopz Staff wants to know how much will D-Miles earn over his contract? Money is money to all ballers, so we want to explain how much dough he will be earning over the 10 days. Below is a compiled answer:

The minimum salary a 10-day contract can offer is the # of days in the contract divided by the # of days in the regular season multiplied by the minimum annual salary. Note that 10-day does not mean 10 games.

    Example:
    Minimum salary is $300,000
    # of days in NBA regular season is 170

    Salary = 10/170 x $300,000 = $17,700

Guess this is not what the Portland Trailblazers had hoped, despite Kevin Pritchard effort to send out emails that would help them save approximately $18 million for this season and next. Good luck Portland and D-Miles, it’s a long season. GO BLAZERS!

The minimum this year for rookies is $442,114
so I guess the hornets paid Tolliver $26,006.71 =(10/170)*442,114
not bad...especially considering he didnt even get into a game

son do you think he can put 15 rosters wholy on the active list, or just let paul rest the whole game and give the game up?

Hornets can hardly win a game without Paul, even less possible to win a game than the cavs without james.
