    I took the liberty of assessing what the SAS have done leading up to the Trip since it began in 2003, and you'll realize how amazingly steady the franchise has fared record wise. I've provided the record right before the Trip, and in addition, how the Spurs sat after 46 games played, which is what we're sitting on as we type. Then I averaged the records among the seven seasons for both categories. Notice what W-L record the averages state.

    W-L record before road trip
    2009 = 32-14
    2008 = 28-14
    2007 = 31-14
    2006 = 34-10
    2005 = 36-10
    2004 = 31-18
    2003 = 28-15
    Avg = 31-14

    W-L record after 46 games
    2009 = 32-14
    2008 = 30-16
    2007 = 32-14
    2006 = 36-10
    2005 = 36-10
    2004 = 29-17
    2003 = 30-16
    AVG = 32-14

    --------------------------------------------
    And just for fun and my fellow stat geeks, here's the Spurs records after 46 games since Five-0's rookie year (sans '97):

    '02 = 30-16
    '01 = 31-15
    '00 = 30-16
    '99 = 30-16 (factored for 82 gms)
    '98 = 32-14
    '96 = 31-15
    '95 = 31-15
    '94 = 32-14
    '93 = 32-14
    '92 = 27-19
    '91 = 33-13
    '90 = 32-14
    AVG = 31-15

    Bottom line, we not only have the most consistent player in the NBA but this is in fact Team Consistency. I doubt there could be another franchise that's achieved these heights going on 19 years.

    if you knock off the 1-4 start, spurs are right on par with the '05 and '06 seasons, their most dominating years.

    Great work!

    I saw the actual rodeo road-trip record for a split second on ESPN last night, year by year.

    I think the overall record was 35-12 over 6 years.

    If I caught the stats right, that is a truly amazing road record.

    Just to make this clear, no single NBA team has a road record this good this year, with only LA and Orlando close, and these teams have only played less than half the number of road games.

    How bout knocking off the 2-5 start........

    I don't think many people realize that the Spurs are right there with the top four teams if you do that.

    30-9 folks. That's the Spurs since the 2-5 start.

    "30-9 folks. That's the Spurs since the 2-5 start."

    Convert those initial 2-5 to 5-2.

    32-24 becomes 35-11

    Spurs vs Top4 WC & EC:

    3-4

    W: LAL, DEN, ATL - L: ORLx2, DEN, LAL

    unplayed: BOS, CLE

    I wonder what kind of stats Hollinger will use to counter that.
