I could have handled Kilmer as Batman (same with Clooney as Batman, for that matter) and Carrey as The Riddler in a better movie. The biggest factors going against Batman Forever were Chris O'Donnell and Joel Schumacher.
Batman & Robin, on the other hand, kept those two factors and then threw in crappier villains, a crappier story, a sick/dying Alfred, and ing Alicia Silverstone for good measure.

He is the reason that movie sucks balls.
Arnie wasn't all that bad. The lines they gave him were just ing re ed at times. But, the scenes that involve his wife . . . they were actually not bad. Poison Ivy was not a bad concept, but Bane was pretty much useless in that movie.
Alicia was just as bad as Kidman. And, both had O'Donnell, so that's that.
What you can't counter is how ridiculously bad Jones' Two Face was. I mean, come one, there's no way to defend that.

Catwoman saved Batman Returns. That storyline makes it my favorite of the Burton Batman films, despite how much I absolutely hated Devito as Penguin.

I think Val Kilmer was good looking in the bat suit...But as far as the best actor to portray Bats was Micheal Keaton.... I could see the struggle,turmoil within as he was both Bruce and Bats.
