He shot-puts it, but why not have him in there since he's making so many of them and he's a crowd favourite kinda guy.
I really hope Bonner gets invited too. I think his shooting stroke is simplicity itself w/c makes it ideal for the contest. ABut primarily I'm curious to see how he'd handle the pressure.

We have a roster filled with 3 point shooters. Roger is just about the best in the league right now. Why not take 1 of our many and let him play in Phoenix. Someone on this roster deserves to be at the 3 point shoot out. And on the other side, there shouldnt be anyone complaining about us not having anyone on the Slam Dunk contest as well.
It hasn't been announced that Mason will be invited but he has publicly said that he wants in. And seeing how he is near the top of the 3P% leaders, I'm guessing the NBA has to give him a spot.
Although I remember either last season or the season before Barry said he wanted in and was leading the league in 3P% and the NBA skipped over him.
Yeah, the Spurs have had a player in the top two or three in percentage more than once who has not gotten an invite.
JR Smith will either come last or win it (assuming he even gets an invite, which i doubt he will)...
If he hits the first few, then you just know he will nail most of them.........but if he misses the first couple then he will continue shooting cold![]()
Mason is also top 5 in 3pt made. He really deserves to be in.
hope he gets invited to the 3pt comp....
if he wins it?
i wanna see the reaction of wizardfans.....another mans trash is another mans treasure
I was hoping someone would point that out. Naming sources can also get them fired, since if you NEED a source it's because the info is not yet for public consumption, etc, etc
Q-Rich fell off because he's a mediocre offensive player unless D'antoni is coach. He was also traded to the Knicks when Isiah was GM, name a player during that era who went to the Knicks and didn't fall off. Kapono is shooting 43.8% from long distance this season and his scoring average is up from last year, most wouldn't consider that "falling off".
If this story is true it won't hurt Mason at all.
Mason would definitely have a great chance to win this compe ion. He is the most fearless shooter I have seen in a while, and he is ultra-compe ive.
Bonner, I don't think should compete. He will probably look for Pop after his first miss.
Bonner would actually have a better chance at winning it but Mason deserves it more. His shot is ugly as but it's a quick release and requires very little lower body strength, and the 3PT contest always favors those shots.
It would be very cool to see Mason on All-Star Saturday Night, I would definitely watch...
Spurs almost always have somebody near the top in 3Pt%, and yet always seem to get the pass when it comes to the Three Point Contest. I always wanted to see Barry take his shot at the double crown.
Maybe Mason's 'breakout season' story, along with some hot shooting, is enough to get him a trip this year.
I just want to see as many of the Spurs at All-Star weekend as possible. I want the Phoenix fans to cringe when they see their destroyers.
I know... I'm a prick.![]()
If Mason does get invited and wins, PHX will be a very memorable place for him in the regular season of '08-'09![]()
Mason got into the 3pt contest with his game winning 3 in Phoenix.
Funny thing is, while he competes, he will be reminding Suns fans of that same shot, again, and again and again
who gives a ? when did this become a thread about jr smith?
I hope Jason Richardson comes to guard him during it.
name your source![]()
Mason is either going to win it, or be the worst IMO..he's streaky as ..
