Let's not panic now. We'll go to Tim and play the second half without experiments, I'm sure.
You watch, we'll tighten up the D and hold these guys to low 90s pts, and Tim will have 34.
Difficult if he only takes 3 shots in the 2nd quarter when he has 17 points (7/9 FG) in the first one.Maybe we don't want to win this game or we want to win without TD scoring 30.Why? I don't know.

you act like you want them to be perfect. Show me a team that doesn't up, and I'll show you a team that will probably get beat by the spurs in a 7 game series.
Without risk, there is no reward.
Man, I'm with you on that one.
I do not care about the small ball, I care about the 50% shooting for the Warriors.
I disagree. You cant expect a line up of consisting of George Hill and Malik Hairston with Finley at C to be trotted out in a playoff game, and have any sort of success. So why put them out against the Warriors?
Do you think Pop thinks that lineup may work against LA or Portland?
You guys haven't worked out this team's rhythm against poor teams yet? We typically play lacksidaisical ball in the first half, then turn it up a notch or two somewhere between the 6min mark of the 3rd and the 6min mark of the 4th, and win the game. I must have seen that 20 times this season, and we'll do it again today.
Personally, I prefer this to past years where we would get a 25 point lead then piss it down to 2 and pull out a win.
Lets just hope this little experiment didn't go tooo bad. Spurs got this, as long as they play to win.
It's the regular season but these games are important. You can't sleep walk through a game no matter who you are - player or coach. If I think pop is ing up plays, i'll tell it like it is. It doesn't mean i'm a hater. Pop is genius. Don't get that wrong. He calls great plays in timeout situations but his strategy often leaves much to be desired.
We were getting momentum there in the 1st half and pulling away then he insert ball small. Against the warriors no less. Maybe he wants to experiment but that wasn't the right time in my opinion. small ball.
As a matter of fact, that should be in my sig
That's the at ude I expect from a Spurs fan. We aren't the Lakers or the Celtics, we are the Spurs. In all the Spurs imperfections, that's who we are. Love it or leave it, you can't name a franchise that has won more championships in the last nine years than the Spurs have.
I want at least 1 big out there the entire time, is that so much to ask? lol.
Hey dude. I'm giving the Spurs the praise you say they deserve. This was one of Pop's best tank jobs ever.
Direct result of SB, with Finley and Malik Hairston manning the paint.
Turiaf did a nice job of stopping Duncan. Strong post defense on his part. Timmy had 17 in the 1st quarter and 2 points in the 2nd. Get used to small-ball. That's what you're going to see with the Warriors.
Spurs are going to have to play smarter and tougher in the 2nd half. Whenever, they run the 2-man game to get the Parker to switch onto Jack, the Spurs will need to bring help quicker for the mouse in the house.
Maggette needs to be guarded by Bowen.
Did George Hill hit the rookie wall? It now seems like every time Tony leaves the floor and he comes in the offense just gets so stagnant. I can't even blame Ginobili for it anymore since he's giving up the ball to Hill but he doesn't do anything with it.
it would be nice to see Roger make a few shots..
I want more hairston. More.
One other key stat that just stood out- Turnovers. Spurs-9 Warriors-6. Simple as that. Simple adjustments. No small ball, tweak the D a little, and take care of the damn ball, and we'll have a W here.
Come on Spurs, the Hornets lost tonight. Keep up with the Lakers and put some distance between yourselves and the rest of the West.
Some of your points are legit. But dont be a TPark and defend every single damn decision the Spurs make.
I say put Bowen on Jack, and Hairston on Maggette or vice versa also. Experiment thats worth a try, instead of playing Finley at C.
TD could scores easily 30 ppg if he takes the same shots than Bryant but I'm sure this is not the best way to win.But tonight please Pop, there is not problem if he takes 30 shots only one game if he was shooting 75%.Tonight we don't have reason to change the gameplay if it works very good.
I feel you. I want to win this game, but i'm not the coach of the best sports franchise for the last 9 years. Let the guy make his own mistakes, we will watch, thats pretty much all we can do.
Of course not. It was a ridiculous lineup. Last time I saw anything like that in the playoffs was in the Dallas series in 2003 (we had Parker, Manu, Kerr, Bowen and Jackson out there for a while...and it worked!). But anyway, Pop sometimes s around for the of it, and that's clearly what he was doing.
All I was saying is that if you are going to test a style of ball you should test it against a team that plays it well to see how good you are at it.
