We could have chance to win both games.Even if they need rest I would give rest one game to TD and one game to TP.
Why put TD 40+ minutes yesterday if you don't care about lost games?? You could give them 30 minutes against the Warriors and today they could play another 30.
And why not rest them against Boston? It was easier to win tonight than next Sunday and it was more important too.

I don't like it.We could have chance to be the first team of the west yet.We are the best team of the west since December.
But if to win or to lose it's not important then I will give more rest to TD.2 or 3 weeks to be at 100% in the playoffs.I only hope that we don't need one more win at the end of the regular season.

the Warriors game was the first game of the trip, it doesn't make sense to pull this off on the first game..

if we didn't go to OT, I'm not sure if Pop would have rested them..but we did, and would have had to follow it up vs. a tough Denver team in the al ude..Manu was hurt..Duncan just played 40+ and was in for a physical game vs. Nene..Tony already suffered a major injury this season following an OT game..

Pop doesn't give a who the team is, and neither do I..the situation would have been the same, the opponent is irrelevant..you guys seem to care, just because Denver is around us in the standings..you should know by watching this team this season, that Pop doesn't care about standings, nor should he..there's no difference from the 3-9 when it comes to whoever we'll be playing..we aren't catching LA either way..

it's probable that Pop thought that the Warriors could have been dispatched quickly and, thereby, be able to give his guys some rest and be ready to tackle the nuggets in denver. unfortunately, warriors had other plans.

Pop probably thought that playing Tim, Tony and Manu against the Warriors is a guaranteed win and was also the first of a back to back. Playing them against the Nuggets is by no means a guaranteed win and if he was planning this from before the Warriors game, it only makes sense to rest them against the Nuggets rather than the Warriors. Rest them against Warriors and it's a better than 50% chance the Spurs go 0-2 on the back to back.

Exactly. And when he realised that the Warriors had forced his guys to use so much energy, and knowing that injuries often occur due to fatigue (perfect eg - TP doing his ankle the day after 55pt game), and that "b-2-b+Warriors' up and down game+high al ude in Denver=fatigue", he decided to rest the team.

At the end of the day, all us amatuers out there should just STFU and trust the guy who runs the team and has 4 rings from doing so. No matter how much we'd like to believe otherwise, when it comes to NBA basketball, he knows an encyclopedia more than we do.

While that is 100% true, that does not mean Pop never makes a mistake. Why is that so hard for people to understand. They seem to find it offensive if someone questions a move that Pop makes.

Tim Duncan is better at basketball then Pop ever was, yet he takes criticism from Pop on a daily basis.

That is not to say this move we are discussing is a mistake. Just people getting so defensive on behalf of Pop is crazy. No one thinks he is a bad coach, far from it. He is a great coach, just like Tim is a great player. Neither are above question sometimes. It is part of loving the game and the team.

Yeah whatever. The same people that hated this are the same numb skulls that get pissed over losses in November.

Pop like play with brain process of opposing coach. Nuggets be likely opponent round two of post season playoff situation. Move by Pop last night a sword of two edges put in heart of Nugget leader.
