True, but this is faith-based, too. We can't know to a certainty whether time is of the essence to the extent claimed.
Congressional obstruction is obligatory by now. The GOP will have to be talked down from it.
Of course -- I'm just saying the two statements are in no way contradictory.
He should have just said there will be a terraist attack if it wasn't passed. Republicans would go for that.
Why hasn't Obama announced a politically convenient threat yet? It would probably work.
Instead, we get Obama's lame gambit of impugning the GOP for doing the only thing that's within their power to do, short of assimilation.

It's Obama trying to play both sides of the fence. He wants to say the stimulus could take years to work so he's not accountable. Then he says disaster is eminent. Of course I expect the sheep to go to their perceived trump card in Iraq. Hilarious.

He has a perfect clue. He is a grade A politician who understands the Average American is the one without a clue. He and others on both sides will say whatever it takes to get their porkulus bills and terrorist policies through.
Just like how Obama said he screwed up in letting Dachlebag be a candidate after already hiring "My kid's camp trip is a business expense" Geithner.
Obama is not the "different" politician a lot of the sheep wanted him to be, and has already proven it in his first 2 weeks

It's not a specific threat. Terra is, or can be.
The catastrophism is getting to be a broken record, but so far it seems to be an effective sell. It's a good way to stampede a nervous herd into bad decisions.

Did you read what your posting? Because he's speaking of 2 different things. I'm not even commenting on whether he's right or wrong, but the context and the subjects of the 2 statements are entirely different.
In your first example, he's talking about there being a catastrophe if we don't pass stimulus quickly. In the second he's talking about the recovery once the stimulus plan is in effect. So sure, maybe Obama has no clue, but this is pretty much AHF level posting for you 2cents.
So it is. Obama certainly doesn't take the liberty as far as his predecessor did. Yet.
But what if Obama is right?
The world is looking to us for guidance. Are we giving them bold and decisive action?
The timing could be important on this. Maybe we do need to just sh!t or get off the pot.

I heard a interview with the second coming of Christ today. They asked Obama if he has stopped smoking. Simple yes or no question. But Mr Change couldn't say yes or no. He says not here on this white house property. Something like that. Then moved on. I could careless if you smoke or not,just stop being a politician for crying out loud. You are the President. I know minor. Just an observation.
The president can't advertise his coping mechanisms. Matter of national security, you might say. Evildoers might try to tamper with his cigs.
