Going to dallas was his biggest mistake ever
It has been brought to my attention that today marks the 10 year anniversary of Dirk's career, as his rookie year was the lockout year.
So let us pay tribute to our beloved Dirk, the greatest player in the history of our beloved franchise.
And a great stat for our beloved Dirk, the Mavs win % in the 90's was 27, it has been 67% this decade.
But oh how we weep for our beloved Dirk. For in 2003 he sniffed a le, but became injured, and from the sideline, had to witness Steve Kerr getting off the bench for the first time in forever and hit a bunch of fluky bull shots.
And then in 2006, close to the championship, until the officials decided his unconventional German ways were less marketable than D-Whistle the wheelchair .
Oh but our Dirk bounced back, won an MVP, only to have his heart broken by halfcourt fluky bull shots and Matt Barnes acting out of character (playing good basketball).
But alas, our Dirk fights on, and we, as Mavs fans, shall continue to support him. We shall follow him to the ends of the Earth, we shall follow him to the gates of , we shall follow him until time stops.
Going to dallas was his biggest mistake ever
As opposed to the Bucks?
Change the thread le before MiamiHeat gets in here.
If the Cheat were worthy champions, they would not have gone 46-36 the next year and got swept out of the first round by an extremely young Bulls team.
Now one might say if the Mavs were the true champions, why did they lose to Golden State? Well, I'll say, in spite of that, we still won 21 more regular season games and 2 more playoff games than the Heat, and while the Bulls grossly outplayed the Heat, the Warriors just hit a bunch of fluky bull jump shots.
I know, 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 are not equal, but the Spurs have defended all of their les admirably, the Bulls defended every single le while MJ was playing, the Rockets did likewise, the Lakers atleast won 50 games in regular season and 6 playoff games after their dynasty ended... and look at the celtics now.
Ähm.... yes. As far as I know the Bucks traded him to Dallas, thus it wasn't his mistake
The mistake was attempting to prove something to your mentor by playing small ball by the guy that's been the mastermind of small ball for the last 25+ years.
The other mistake was lets trade the future of our franchise from an old Kid who they have to pay 20 million a season to not get the Mavs anywhere...
Oh yeah and for good measure we will fire our Coach who got them that far because all of a sudden it's his fault..
Yes ode to the Mark Cuban the most arrogant self centered dumbass owner in basketball. I'd give him the nods for dumbest owner in any sport however that le belongs to fellow Dallas based owner Jerry Jones. What is it about Dallas sports club owners that they gotta be dumb ones.
I actually feel bad that Dirk is wasting the prime of his career on a average team at best. They have been sliding downhill since the 06 Finals.
Can you imagine how jealous he is of Pau Gasol?
Why? Is not like Gasol will be winning anything any time soon...![]()
Oh !
You really want to go there.
Unfortunately Golden State didn't use protection when they ed you'all in 2007. No wonder you guys are no longer relevant.
Thanks for ruining one of the best pg's ever during his prime. If he was on a good team, he might've won something.
Looks like Dirt got a good ass ing from the Jazz Team as an anniversary present.
What a bunch of losers in Dallas!!!![]()
now thats just damn funny.
Dirk for Tractor Taylor will most likely go down as the most lopsided trade in NBA history.
Dirk is good but Dirk's fans are not good
Yeah really, who the are Suns fans to talk about Dirk's teams in Dallas when their teams were so pathetic that a 2-time MVP couldn't even make the Finals?
Dirk has become the most underrated player in the NBA IMO..but he plays for a pathetic franchise that chokes every chance they get..hopefully he goes to a credible franchise soon..
2010 Dirk decides he wants to WIN.
He signs with SA for 3yrs/30 Million. Yeah Cubes would pay him more, but he doesn't want to finish without a ring...
Duncan
Dirk
Gino
Parker
I dont' know who plays SF, but I'm not sure I care either...
I would trade Odom for Dirk, and that's saying alot...for me at least.
If the Mavs are a pathetic franchise, then 20-25 teams have pathetic franchises.
The Mavs have been the 2nd most successful regular season team since the close of the Lakers dynasty, behind the Spurs.
Now, it hasn't resulted in rings, but we all know that's due to bull , but if the Mavs are pathetic despite all their success, then so are the Bobcats, Hawks, Nets, Warriors, the list goes on and on.
HALF the franchises in the league do not have championships, if a franchise is "pathetic" because it's ringless, half the NBA is pathetic. Which doesn't make sense, of course.
