Probobly three of the worst refs in the league and the league's refs suck, so thats saying somethin....
That's just fun to read. Mason is really starting to make a name for himself, and it's nice as a Spurs fan to be able to see the benefits.A deal would be extremely difficult to make, however, because among those players San Antonio is making available, the Nets have interest in only Roger Mason -- now arguably the game's top 3-point shooter, and one of its best closers -- and backup point guard George Hill.

Should we just tick it on the L column?
Maybe Pop will just sit everybody down?
Brook Lopez Sees Tim Duncan Again
by Matthew McQueeny
It keeps being raised, and fairly by being subtle, but as the season moves on you wonder: how much can Brook Lopez be like the guy he will face off against tonight, the one-of-the-best-of-his-era forces Tim Duncan? Lopez, remember, is only 20 years old and he has stepped in as one of the cornerstones for this young team. Contrary to rookie ways, he has gotten better and better every month, and in almost every game. He is so formidable, and now that he has taken to "playing big" - the eupemism for not acting like a guard around the rim - there are not many holes to him right now. And imagine how much better he could get.
But the question remains - and Nets fans only have excitement over this query - of how good and how dominant he could be. He reminds you, in his footwork, fundamentals, and frame, of a young Duncan, but we still need to learn how like him he is in the unseen and intangible things, like the indomitable will to win and coming up even bigger in the biggest games.
Duncan had the luxury early in his career of having another near-immortal twin tower complement, in David Robinson. But, when you start to side-by-side the early numbers of Duncan and Lopez, they are getting to the point where similarities do exist. Duncan, in his boring efficiency (kind of like Brook too, huh), had almost identical NBA inception seasons: basically 21.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, and 50 percent shooting.
Lopez, who did not begin the season in the starting lineup, has come on and almost up to those numbers, while not having as much a chance to be a focal point with the Nets talented and veteran backcourt. Yet, Brook scored 15 points, pulled down eight rebounds, blocked nearly two shots, and shot 51 percent in January, and through four contests in February has averaged 17 points on 66 percent shooting, 11 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks.
It will be a treat to watch the two go up against each other once more. Lopez had 15 and eight in San Antonio on January 23rd and had some nice moments against the big fundamental, who still dominated to the tune of 30 points, 15 boards, and four blocks. Not bad for a night's work.
San Antonio Spurs (34-15) at New Jersey Nets (24-28)
(Sports Network) - After coming through with a big effort on the road their last time out, the San Antonio Spurs continue a long trip tonight against a New Jersey Nets team they've enjoyed plenty of success against over the past few years.
San Antonio has won 12 consecutive regular-season meetings with New Jersey, with the Nets' last victory in the series coming at the Meadowlands on November 13, 2003. The Spurs extended their dominance over New Jersey when the teams squared off in San Antonio on January 23, with Tim Duncan amassing 30 points and 15 rebounds to lead the way.
The Spurs have actually defeated the Nets 14 straight times, having taken Games 5 and 6 of the 2003 NBA Finals to close out that best-of-seven set.
San Antonio also comes in on a major high after downing the defending world champion Boston Celtics on the road on Sunday. Duncan and Matt Bonner each scored 23 points and Roger Mason drained a clutch three-point basket in the waning moments to help seal a 105-99 win.
The triumph was the Spurs' ninth in 11 outings and improved the club to 2-1 on a current eight-game road trip. San Antonio, which is an impressive 16-8 as the visitor this season, will also visit Toronto, New York, Detroit and Washington on the swing.
New Jersey put together a season-best four-game winning streak between January 31-February 7, but that run came to an end in Sunday's matchup with Southeast Division leader Orlando. Dwight Howard racked up 30 points and 16 rebounds as the Magic cruised to a 101-84 decision over the Nets at Amway Arena.
Devin Harris finished with 28 points and 12 assists for New Jersey, which played without star swingman Vince Carter, while rookie Brook Lopez had 19 points and 12 rebounds in the loss.
Carter sat out after hyperextending his right elbow in the Nets' 114-70 rout of Denver on Saturday, but is expected to play tonight. The eight-time All- Star is averaging 20.8 points per game on the season.
New Jersey owns just an 11-15 home record this season but has won its last two tests at the Izod Center.
