I would do that in a heart beat. Everyone wants David Lee, the guy plays with so much heart.
Lee's contract is eatable to the spurs whose purse is not pretty full compared to others, but spurs will have to lose some of their current talent to land lee, knicks are not grizzlies. Roger Mason should be preferable to Dantoni I think. Knicks don't have a good shooting guard since they traded crawford, so it's very hard for them to refuse Mason.

They passed him over in the '05 draft.![]()
Earlier in the season all the talk was that the Knicks were having a fire sale on Lee, so they could clear cap space for a run at LeBron. He's had a of a season, and his value has gone up accordingly. He is also arguably the most popular player on the team with Knicks fans. They aren't giving him away. Period.
There was also a belief that whoever got Lee could re-sign him for a "reasonable" price. But this season has brought him out from under the rader, if he was ever really there. He's not going to be a bargain re-sign either, which makes it that much more likely that he will stay with the Knicks.
He may be available, but anybody who gets him away from NY will have to offer a piece that the Knicks really want. An expiring contract (or two) won't get it done. I don't think he's going anywhere. But if he does, it won't be to the Spurs. No amount of wishful thinking will change that.
Tell me you're joking. Please....tell me you're joking. Injury prone...He's jinxed..he is a early big man pick for the Blazers and we all know how those guys get hurt. Parker is a freaking all star. He's the Finals MVP. God I hope you're being sarcastic.
i like this post a lot.![]()
nice joke, ok seriously now
Why do people include Bonner and Oberto in trade ideas. They're not going anyhwere this year- they aren't expiring contracts. They have no trade value for this year.
Why would Detroit trade us Wallace for expiring contracts when he's one too. There's no incentive for them.
If the Spurs make a big trade before the deadline, George Hill would be part of any trade and maybe even Mahinmi. Do you wanna see Vaughn as the backup PG again?
This summer: the Spurs sign Wallace for the MLE and then trade Oberto and Bonner's expiring contracts for a SF.
the pacers have no money and wouldn't do that.
Or Finley instead of Bonner.

Here at Project Spurs, with the February 19 deadline coming up, there has been a lot of trade talk the last few days. I thought it was a bit of a long shot when I threw out the idea of acquiring Camby, but then a ludicrous rumor involving Vince Carter came up, along with a report that Rasheed Wallace wants to wear the Silver & Black.
I'm issuing a challenge to our readers, using ESPN's Trade Machine, put together a trade and submit it to us in the comments. The trade needs to meet some key qualifications though:
- It needs to benefit the Spurs. (Give us a short explanation)
- The math needs to come out, the Trade Machine will tell you if it doesn't.
- Don't submit anything we know isn't going to happen, like trading Duncan.
San Antonio sends Kurt Thomas and Fabricio Oberto to Indiana, and Jacque Vaughn to the Clippers. Indiana sends Rasho Nesterovic to the Clippers, and Josh McRoberts to the Spurs. The Clippers send Marcus Camby to the Spurs. This gives Indiana quality depth and leadership in the post, while maintaining flexibility for the 2010 offseason. The Clippers gain 2 expiring contracts, and free up some minutes for their glut of talented post players. San Antonio gets a solid, defensive veteran who can run the floor and take some pressure off of Duncan, and a young post with an expiring contract, also maintaining 2010 flexibility.
You know why this trade wont work? Spurs giving away 2 big men for 1 and a unknown player. A rotation of only 3 big players (DUNCAN/BONNER/CAMBY) is not good for us in the playoffs....if one goes down, we are left with 2 and the unknown player....
Won't Ian be back? if not pick up a d-league guy. for christ sakes its marcus camby make it work.
Ian is out for the season if im not correct, and i doubt he get any playoff mins even if his healthy.....
ian is extremely overrated by this board. and no he will not be
Ian = injury rookie - how can he help us on the playoffs????
don't watch much ball you my friend are an idiot!! I have been watching and attending the games since the arena days so i do know what im talking about. if you look at what makes championship teams.you need a complete team ( for the literal idiots ) players that can play their position better than average better yet true position players. we don't have that right now break our players down and you will see we are lacking a SF,C and back up PF. that's what we had when we won les!!! http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/imag...lies/lobt2.gif![]()
Ian Mahinmi
I was pimping this guy all year but he is injury prone.....
LOL Greg Oden!!!
he is like fifty (in BB years ) he will not make it 5yrs in the league.we need a center and a true SF !
With that ankle surgery, he'll be out for the season.
Second one is really unrealistic. First one won't ever happen. 7 million for 3 years for a big that would get no more than 12 mpg.
well the three don't do squat and we will get what we need...and the second is what PHILI needs. FAITH LOL gets you to the first round in 8th place or hoping you'll get to the second. i want to feel confident we can match up with anyone. oh my hay day was the trail blazers lol not till we got complete team did we win thats what we need.
I'm not sure if you guys already touched on this or not, but how to you guys feel about the reported Vince Carter to the Spurs for Oberto, Bowen, Hill, and Mason? Isn't that a bit much if you're the Spurs? Who would guard Kobe then? Udoka?
