    "War Machine" Busted for Fighting at Gay Club

    With a name like War Machine, what do you expect to happen?

    Former "Ultimate Fighter" badass Jon Koppenhaver, who goes by the aforementioned MMA nickname, was picked up by Las Vegas PD for misdemeanor battery Saturday morning after allegedly getting into a tussle at Krave Nightclub -- a place described by one of their reps as "gay ... but very straight-friendly."

    Cops tell TMZ security at Krave was escorting War Machine out of the club after a little brouhaha -- when he allegedly turned on security and starting punching them. Security made a citizens arrest until Las Vegas PD could show up.

    Former number one welterweight contender, Karo Parisyan, has tested positive for several painkillers, including Hydrocodone, Hydromorphone and Oxymorphone, following his controversial split decision win over Dong Hyun “Stun Gun” Kim at UFC 94: “St. Pierre vs. Penn 2” at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Jan. 31.

    The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) today passed along the results to MMAmania.com.

    “The Heat” has been battling a nervous disorder, as well as injuries, which forced him out of a match against Yoshiyuki Yoshida less than 24 hours before showtime back in September 2008.

    According to MMAMania, no other fighters tested from this card popped positive for any illegal or banned substances.

    I talked with Mania before posting this and it is our understanding that a fighter cannot be taking painkillers prior to a fight to mitigate the ill effects of an injury or rigorous training. And even if Parisyan were to have disclosed this information prior to the bout, that candor would only have made his inability to fight official.

    For longtime fans of Parisyan, his trajectory has been a very bitter pill to swallow. His quadricep injury prior to his le shot with Hughes was forgivable, but Parisyan has never seemed to rebound from the setback. By both design and accident, Parisyan is continually taking actions that jeopardize his career. What happens next is up to the UFC, the NSAC and Parisyan himself. I certainly hope he is able to get the help is so desperately needs.

    If he wants to be smart about it, he'll quietly accept whatever suspension they give him and then persuade the UFC to pay for professional rehab.

    Not anymore I guess....that fight would have put him back on the map.

    KOS has gone from one of the most hated to now fairly respected...

    Karo when from a sympathetic figure who should have a le shot to despised. "Do you know who I am Bro?!?!" and drugs gives him a tough road back.

    MMANews.com was able to catch up with Josh Koscheck earlier today to discuss his upcoming fight at UFC 95 with Paulo Thiago and while the top ranked welterweight is focused on his UFC 95 bout, rumors were flying across the web that he would be fighting Karo Parisyan at UFC 98 in May. Koscheck commented on the fight during the conversation:

    ”I was suppose to fight him at UFC 98 on May 23rd but he tested positive for drugs or steroids or something like that, I’m not really sure, but that fight is now off. I will be fighting on the card but right now my focus is not on that fight. I’m focused on Paulo Thiago.”

    Parisyan, in fact, tested positive for Hydrocodone, Hydromorphone and Oxymorphone, but he tells Sherdog that he openly gave the information on what prescriptions he was prescribed to the NSAC prior to the UFC 94 bout.

    “The Heat” could face a lengthy suspension for the positive test - another UFC fighter, James Irvin, tested positive for similar substances in July and was handed down a nine month suspension.

    Most of these guys were cut because the UFC is trying to trim down their roster to under 200 fighters, as a means to streamline their payroll, curtail the number of hanger-ons that keep getting fights despite just being journeymen and gatekeepers and to free up the ability to sign new/promising talent.

    Clementi was nothing more than a gatekeeper in the UFC, and a s***-talking one at that. Luigi is a tough well-rounded fighter but it's clear he wasn't dynamic enough to make an impact in the UFC. Eddie Sanchez is the only one that semi-troubled me. Not because he was high-level, but he always came to fight (his battle with Hardonk was incredible) and is a good talent gauge for a weak yet improving HW division.

    Florian says he doesn't even have BJ Penn's email and that its all a lie.

    From UFC 95 conf call... @ Diego apologizing to Dana for saying Fedor...awesome...

    1:42 p.m. – Fighters are asked about their heroes in MMA and who they like to watch. Joe said Dan Henderson. Diego prefaces his response by apologizing to Dana White and said for him, it’s Fedor Emelianenko. Said he doesn’t even know if he’s human. Said he has no emotion in his fights and respects how he comes into fights wearing “the cross” and “honors the lord” after the fight. Said he also looks up to Anderson Silva but that he sees holes in Silva’s game.

    1:44 p.m. – Joe also said he looks up to Fedor.

    Dana doesn't give a sh*t. He just have to worry what he says...he's a promoter! Joe Rogan has said on the UG several times he has never once heard of Dana censoring people unless they are having a problem with a sponsor.

    As far as those Meta Ranking...I have a massive problem with Josh being number 2....
