Yeah, Rasheed is making $13.68 million this season. Spurs would have to send out 85% - $100,000 of that to get him, so we're looking at $11.52 million.
Oberto = $3.5 M
Finley = $2.5 M
Rob was signed to about $3.1M last year, so the Spurs could sign him to about $3.25M or so max (105% of last year's deal).
So far that brings the total the Spurs would have to make up to $2.27 million. That means one of these cases:
1) trade Bowen
2) trade Bonner
3) trade Vaughn + one of Udoka, Mahinmi, and Hill
I'd love to have Rasheed, but no way I'm moving Bowen or Hill, and Bonner won't be moved with the way he's shooting. Aside from the near-impossibility of this deal from the Spurs side, what is Detroit getting out of it? The only explanation is maybe Dumars would do it as a favor to Sheed for the years he gave them.
Also, would the Spurs be allowed to pay most of Rob's salary upfront? No way Detroit would want to pay the whole thing for less than half a season on the roster.
