    7th is just a number, 1 game outta 4th.



    Without JET, against best D in the league, Dirk 1 on 5. Our only hope really was that Allen didnt play or the C's would be tired, and they lookde tired in the beginning but caught a 2nd wind.

    I hate how the announcers are giving credit to KG though, it was all Rondo/Pierce.

    The only players I trust on our roster are JET and Dirk come playoff time. Kidd has been good for us this year but nights like these make me feel he would be limited in a halfcourt playoff series.

    mavs didnt attack enough in the second half. got complacent, and didnt get to the line like they were in the first. when the mavs actually play aggressively, they are as good as anyone in the league. unfortunately, that doesnt happen often these days. the only guy who was consistently aggressive was Howard. very pleased with his effort. did anyone notice that a load of shots were like halfway down then would rim out for the mavs? they had some really bad fortune tonight...

    Are Kidd, Dampier, and Wright expected to be consistently aggressive? it simply isn't in their arsenal.

    We had great energy in the first half, and for parts of the 2nd... but energy only takes you so far. Whatever it is abut basketball, energy/momentum shifts happen in a game. C's had it late, and their superior talents reigned supreme.

    Horrible 4th quarter execution..I know you guys had a 15 point & all lead but you cannot give the celtics any life & give them easy points if you expect to beat them.Especially with your 2nd best offensive player injured. I knew celtics would win the game when they cut the lead to under 10. Without howard you cannot expect Dirk to win the game by himself & he couldnt even hit a shot in the 4th.

    Great coaching by Rick tonight. C's go to the top of the key iso everytime down the floor the last five minutes and we got to watch Pierce abuse Devean George (are so called defensive stopper) ever single time. You think you might want to double team and make some else make a shot but Rick must have enjoyed the shooting exihibition. Love the Carlisle quote afte the game

    "They fought their hearts out and really deserved to win the game," Carlisle said of his players. "I'm going to take the blame for this, because we played the Paul Pierce play a few different ways and had some of our best guys guarding him, but we should have come and double-teamed him and just given some other guys some shots. I mean, it's as simple as that.

    "You know, when you sit in this chair, there's times that you've got to be man enough and you've got to be honest enough to say that you blew it. Hey, we could have made more shots and the outcome might have been different or whatever, but my heart is with my guys and their effort.

    "So this one's on me."
    With that saying the Mavs will never be able to win a close game down the stretch against a great defense with a lineup of Kidd, Wright, George, Dirk and Damp. Thats playing 1 on 5 on offense
