I have school aged children who would be on their own if I was on a jury. But I'd like to serve as soon as I am able. I got selected once before I had kids, but they settled before the jury had to report.

I was called up he first very time the last time I went in (a few months ago). I was pretty sure they were going to pick me. It was a case of mental competency for an 18 year old who was schizophrenic. One side said he wasn't one side said he was...they tested him before picking the jury and said he was nuts..no trial.

i did start go the first and second times, but than i decided not to show up anymore. so i just throw the paper away when i do get one.

I served on a capital murder jury once. Not fun but we convicted the sick SOB. Judge said afterwards it was the most open-and-shut case he'd seen in a while but it still took us most of a day for everyone to vote to convict after a week of testimony. At the end the family of the deceased wanted to shake everyone's hand - what do you say at a moment like that?
Fortunately the death penalty was not on the table. It would be hard to send someone to the chair.

The last two times I was called for Jury Duty, I was selected. I didn't like the case a few years ago, but last year, it was interesting and satisfying. Got to send a gang member to jail!
Has anyone ever found someone innocent?
