Even though it's the other ankle, it still scares me a bit that Manu keeps getting injured. I know we don't know what the injury is yet, but if it's been bothering him since before the break, I'd be at least somewhat concerned.

I can also see a trade for Carter or Salmons happening now that Ginobili could possibly be out for a while.

I don't see why Gino would effect that. If they were able to do a trade before for either one of those players, I am sure they probably would. I don't think Gino going down makes them more urgent to do something that could effect the team long term.

What?? Angel is that really you??
    Yea it's me.

I lost a lot of attachment to the Spurs when they sent Rasho away.

The only reason I still root for them as much as I do is because of Manu.

I like Roger Mason, like Finley and Bruce and really like Timmy.
But without Manu, the Spurs lose their appeal to me.

I would root for the Mavericks if Manu went there. Phoenix too- although given that Shaq and Amare play there that would be a very undesirable scenario.

Then you are not a spurs fan but a fan of certain players.
    I would never claim otherwise.

    You are exactly right.

In his last 10 games he's averaging:

    20 points
    5.9 rebounds
    3.7 assists
    2.5 steals

    Sure sounds like he's "done".
haven't you seen the latest HEB ad? His legs look all wobbly and is bending horribly in ways that legs shouldn't bend.

    ....Tim as well.

If the Spurs trade Manu, it will be the last I ever root for them, even though I'll always really like Timmy.

The Spurs have been mostly dead to me since Pop traded Rasho anyways.
I was busting out the champagne when the Spurs unloaded that 7 foot sack of potatoes.

Big picture is much larger than 10 games. Ginobili has missed 13 of 51 games already, likely to be 16 of 54 after this road trip.

Last year he only missed 8 games. The most he missed was in 05-06 at 17 - which he likely will surpass this year if this injury is anything worse than best-case scenario.

He still has skills but if he doesn't have the health what good is it? Physically - that fuel tank is getting closer and closer to E. What does he have left - 1, no more than 2 years, before he falls apart completely?
If the Spurs get in the playoffs with home court in the first round, then I don't care if he misses 40 games.

Big Picture is a healthy Manu in the playoffs.

The games missed combined at the age he as has to be a major red flag for SA.

How close was SA from cutting bait with him this past summer for those ankle injuries? If Manu loses his quickness, he loses the best part of his game. No reason he should be guarded by the likes of Sasha Vujacic.

We'll see how it plays out. But this doesn't sound like a simple precaution considering all the rest he had prior to the AS break and the word its been bothering him for some time.
so what are you proposing to do? Trade Manu?

Who the heck do you think the Spurs could get right now for what you say is a over the hill, near the end of the line Manu?

You're just ready to ditch the entire Spurs roster and start over, aren't you.

First you want to trade Duncan for LBJ or Dwight Howard and now you want to trade Manu for Carter or even Salmons?

    WTF is your problem?

Manu's not going anywhere. He has too much value to the Spurs on and off the court. The front office is not that dumb.

Manu is more shifty than quick.
Either way he needs his ankles.

No. If I'm SA I forget the future and go all-out to try to win now around the Big 3 - if that means dealing Mason and Hill so-be-it. Even if its only Vince - that may further entice a FA like Sheed to sign for MLE next year.

Once Duncan/Manu run out - the Spurs run is over. Best to load up with guys now - worry about the youth and rebuilding when the run dies.

I wonder if he has the same problem in that ankle that he had in his left ankle? If so, the Spurs can say goodbye to any playoff aspirations.
    Wow. Wishful thinking?

2 words for this dumb laker fan:

    Andrew Bynum

LA arguably doesn't need Andrew Bynum to win a ring but definitely doesn't need him to win the West. That doesn't make or break LA.

Can the same be said for the Spurs with Ginobili?

    I didn't think so.

Are you re ed? This is a real question. Where do you get that I want to trade Ginobili from my post? Or any other Spur player for that matter? I hypothetically asked if the Spurs could get Lebron or Dwight would the Spurs trade Duncan. That does not = me saying blow up the team and trade Duncan.

Then I make a comment that Gino being hurt has nothing to do with the Spurs making other moves and you say I want to trade Gino. Quit swinging from my **** and STFU. You are a joke of a human.

ugh..just rest him as long as he needs..

I really hope this isn't going to be Manu's story for the rest of his career..we can't afford injuries like this..hopefully it isn't a big deal..

    I didn't think so.

Wasn't it evident last year that the spurs need a healthy Ginobili? His lack of 100% health was the sole reason lakers beat the spurs.

I think the Lakers need a consistent Bynum to pull out a ring this year.

I see your point though, Giniobili is a much better player then Bynum. Ginobilli is a huge part of the Spurs victories. Bynum is a role player that pushes the Lakers enough to win a le, if he is not so egocentric.
