Manu isn't as valuable to other teams..he's still a great SG, but he's old, and injury prone..

LOL, why would NJ not consider Manu for VC straight up? Manu is better and they get a much friendlier contract. (I know it does not work salary wise)

Not neccissarily. If the idea is to give him a week off, why give him tonight's game off, yet make him practice? If Manu doesn't play Thursday then I'll start to get a little concerned. Until then though I see no reason to discount the idea that this is a phantom injury.

I'm absolutely sure that NJ would do that if they could get the CBA to work. They would LOVE to trade VC's contract for Manu's...

IMO, the following are reasonable deals for NJN (and SAS) :

Carter plays more minutes than Ginobili, but Ginobili is more productive per minute... Carter takes Gino's minutes, + 8-10 mpg of Finleys, and the remaining 15-10 mpg gets split between Bowen, Mason and Hairston. Lopez help's our big situation a fair bit - he's raw, but has some talent.

The price for shifting Carter's contract for Manu's is at least either Lopez (A young big who's shown talent), or a couple of #1's ... It cost Pheonix to 2 #1 picks to move KT to the Sonics. That was only a $8.9Million dollar contract (only 1 year left...) Carter vs Ginobili is cap freedom in 2010, the so called big FA year, and $20 Million (Gino) vs $67 Million (Carter).

PS. Vince is older than Manu...
