Yea i also heard maybe Rasheed and Hamilton.
THAT sounds intriguing.

Detroit buys out Bruce and we re-sign.
Just saying, its a possibility. Again, I doubt we trade Manu.

Wow these trade proposals are getting crazy.
I honestly dont see how either team loses in that trade. We get our big plus an excelent defender.
Detroit gets to play Manu and AI together, they get a servicable big man in KT and an expiring contract in Finley for 2010.
Yeah, they are.
Again, like I said, I seriously doubt we get rid of manu, its just fun to talk about.
It's been said before, its a good thing fans aren't running the teams. , just look what happened to Dallas with a fan owning them.
yea i wouldnt do it... NO!!!
but this is just what i heard on local sports radio.
that, even getting rid of Fin doesn't make that a worthwhile trade, but damn, Hairston getting more minutes, plus a TP, Mason, Prince, Timmy, and Rasheed starting line sounds fantastic.
if we got Prince and Rasheed for Manu, I wouldn't even think twice..I love Manu, but I'm for the logo on the front, not the name on the back of the jersey..
Prince
Wallace
Duncan
would be an absolutely disgusting frontcourt on both sides of the floor, especially defensively..
The Spurs can not trade Manu, he is the spark of the bench he is the heart and soul of the team. Manu is been to and back with this team, I just can not imagine this team without Manu or Manu wearing another jersey

As far as a business stand point, it makes sense.
As a fan, I dont like the prospect of getting rid of Manu.
If my hypothetical trade did occur, the Spurs only add about 3mil to their Cap room. We are currently around 10mil under so its not that big of a hit cap wise, leaving us with room to pick up a servicable guy in 2010. Nevermind the fact that we are trading to the Eastern conference and not a western conference rival. Add to that fact that we are getting some good guys and business wise it does make a ton of sense.
Look at it objectively or from the view point of other teams in the West. They would out their rectum if it happened. , even the East would throw their hands up in disgust and defeat. Lets face it, The spurs are NOT going to get a D.Wade or Lebron type player in 2010. With a trade like that, we would put some MAJOR fear in the rest of the league.
Still, Manu is a big part of this team, I dont know how well it would go over with us Spurs fans here in S.A. Timmy is the man but San Antonio has a hard-on for Manu. I dont think it would go over too well with the fan base we got.
Then again, I think Im kind of wasting my time discussing this with a guy who obviously is a huge fan of Manu. I dont want to see him go either, but if it betters the team.... Thanks for the great years Manu. I'm positive he would always get a warm welcome in San Antonio for which ever team he plays for... except maybe the Lakers.

Exactly.
Manu ankle injury? That's never happened before.
Manu injured!
but if we had Vince Carter...
Then we'd subs ute the word "knee" for "ankle".
All that's been reported is that it's soreness that's taking longer to go away and not his repaired one. That to me suggests it's out of pre-caution, allowing him some extra rest. Manu's been playing all out lately so it makes sense to take that approach for the rest of the season. The attention Pop got for resting guys earlier would explain the details we getting or the lack of. Maybe im hoping for the best. Just can't see a mid-season trade happening for a big piece such as Manu.. Maybe role players.
Either way IF Manu's out, Vince Carter on the Spurs does not make them contenders this season just keeps them compe ive.
No way Spurs would refuse this, yeah. Not that they will ever be put into such a position.
a friend said something he heard on espn radio....manu,hill,oberto...for gay, mayo, gasol
im trying to find it..he had txted me last night about it.
i dont know if that works or what but i would do it.
Memphis wouldn't touch that deal with a 10 foot pole.
Obviously your 'friend' had a bit too much sauce![]()
thats what i thought.....but its good to dream
yeh it would certainly produce a team that could win now and in the future
Parker/Mayo/Gay/Duncan/Gasol![]()
The trade works, but unless Memphis want to show they are not biased by helping the Lakers out I don't see why they would do it.
Just for kicks they can do this trade and then buyout Manu and we resign him. Then we can sign Rasheed too next off season.
Come on Grizz kids do the trade.
plus those three are on rookie contracts so you can sign Rasheed too.
Spurs vs Lakers
Gasol vs Gasol![]()
, they took Kwame and marc for Pau..
