I'm not annoyed. I find it funny you keep antongonizing people when it's led to the CSF being shut down twice already, with you being a major player in the continual escalation that led to the first one (at least, I missed the second explosion)
Well if you're not annoyed and nobody else is complaining about me being annoying then I guess Im not doing a good job at being annoying.

Wrong about me having anything to do with the CSF being shut down.

I had a lot of posts and didn't help, but I was far from being a "major player".

Over the last several weeks, nearly all of the posts I've seen from you have been derogatory. That kind of consistency makes an at ude.
if that's how you define smack, so be it.

    We'll disagree on that.

SA realized that bending over for the Cowboys wasn't financially viable.
Uhh, obviously not since there was a gap because SA wouldn't give into the Cowboys demands. Try again. Think about what would make the Cowboys cave...

maybe, but he's not donating to keep the NFL out of SA.
I still think it's a minor consideration on it. Big reason would be PR in SA.

So by this, you are saying that JJ wouldnt mind SA having its own NFL team?
Don't ask that question if you know what's good for you.

JJ IS on record as saying he wouldn't oppose a team in SA. Any claim (including mine) of him doing anything to prevent an SA team are officially conspiracy theories.

    I know..........its only a theory...........but, a good one.

Why in the world would JJ want SA to grab a team and lose some fan base? San Antonio has more Dallas Cowboys fans than any city outside of DFW area.

Actually, having a D1 team would impact the feasibility of professional ball whether it's a powerhouse or not. SA is borderline (at best) on being able to support an NFL team, so anything that takes money away from a prospective pro team lessens the liklihood of a pro team coming here.

Not like it'd be the first time he'd done something like that. Have you compared the current lease for TC compared to the first one that JJ said didn't favor the Cowboys enough? The new lease is more pro-SA than the first. What happened in the time between the two leases?

Mostly, I think JJ would donate enough to get news coverage so he could proclaim that SA deserves the best football it can get, then remind people the Cowboys are returning to SA for TC.
his donoation will be minimal in stature (which means it will probably be one the top 10 donations UTSA athletics has ever gotten)

the nfl will never come to san antonio and that has nothing to do with library books needing to be filed, errrrrrrrrrrrr, i mean UTSA.

Not that I really disagree there. The odds are extremely small anyway (fraction of a percent at best for the NFL). D1 football makes it fractionally closer to zero.

Actualy, I know quite a bit about that. It's why I know SA is not exactly a player in getting an NFL team anyway.

Still, I brought it up earlier. SA is borderline (at best) NFL caliber town in terms of consumer disposable cash. You add something to consume more of the disposable cash, and it makes it less likely they'll come here. There is no benefit to come here in terms of TV contract (by far the most important part of NFL finances), merchandising (this is an exception with a couple teams, though, as they keep a share of their sales off the top), etc. It's all about tickets and suite sales. If you can't provide better tickets and suite sales than somewhere else, you ain't getting the NFL.

Stop beating around the bush and get to the point.

I need to look it up for sure, but IIRC, Benson wanted hundreds of millions of dollars worth of renovations done to the Alamodome just to be considered in moving the team. Hardberger basically told him to get the fock out.

edit: I remember now......Benson was basically demanding a new stadium. Hardberger and the rest of SA was getting tired of getting played by Benson and told him that with a few renovations, the Alamodome was NFL ready so take it or leave it.

Hardberger never got busted by the NFL for violating any rules in talking to Benson......

All I know is that if you look up the blog "Christian Sings the Blues," you will note that a porn star chronicles his entire "work" for a year out in LA and he is a former UTSA b-ball star. I think this is a bigger claim to fame for the school than Bruce Bowen.

Great. So we both agree you were talking out of your ass. Way to own it.
    Way to comprehend

I'll make sure to refer back to this line when you continue to state things as facts with no data to back them up with.
Go for it. Of course, I don't bother starting out with data because most people on the internet don't give a crap about the data.

because you are trying to characterize me enough to the point where you are busting out definitions of a word to try to describe me....insetad of replying to what I've written.
That still makes sense. I'm categorizing the at ude of your posts, not you. I know plenty of people who are nice on the 'Net and assholes in real life and vice versa. I know nothing about you, and don't care to.

you're certainly doing a good job playing the idiot.
Other than the confusing you and steven (I'm still not entirely sure on that, but with no way to check, I'll stick with it), not really.

Right. So why would JJ spend one dime on insurance to keep the NFL out?
Because it coincides with another goal. I've already said the primary reason would be PR in SA, helping keep other teams out would just be a kicker.

you're assuming that UTSA will be a big time college football program in the next few years, which they wont. JJ may have sold the Cowboys long before UTSA ever hits FBS status.
I assumed no such thing. If something costs $5, and I have $5.01, but then spend $0.02 on something, I still can't afford the $5 item.

..and if the NFL were to come to town, UTSA football would take the hit......not the NFL.
UTSA would take a hit, most definitely. But they wouldn't lose EVERYONE, so it's still less available to the NFL. It's not like everybody prefers NFL to NCAA.

    link?

I need to look it up for sure, but IIRC, Benson wanted hundreds of millions of dollars worth of renovations done to the Alamodome just to be considered in moving the team. Hardberger basically told him to get the fock out.
Here's a link to a quoted MySA article from Mar 2006. At that point, they were still negotiating. It was in October and November of 2005 that people got pissed about Hardberger talking to Benson.

Uh, no. The city commission a study to determine how much it would cost to upgrade the Alamodome and came up with somewhere around $200 million. Hardberger didn't stop talking to until Tagliabue made it clear he wouldn't let the team move.

How do you know? You're the one with the fuzzy head.

Take my word for it, you're an idiot.

Because it coincides with another goal. I've already said the primary reason would be PR in SA, helping keep other teams out would just be a kicker.
JJ wouldn't lose hardly anything if the NFL came to SA. There's no kicker.

I assumed no such thing. If something costs $5, and I have $5.01, but then spend $0.02 on something, I still can't afford the $5 item.
that makes no sense in regards to this, but if UTSA isn't going strong, then an NFL owner wouldn't worry about them and throws your whole 'theory' out.

UTSA would take a hit, most definitely. But they wouldn't lose EVERYONE, so it's still less available to the NFL. It's not like everybody prefers NFL to NCAA.
corporations do. Please tell me you think if a corporation had the choice between giving money to an NFL team or the roadrunners that they would choose the runners.....
