If Manu is relatively healthy (meaning he won't miss more than a few weeks), do you think it is a good basketball decision to give up Hill and Mason in order to pair VC with Tim, Tony and Manu?
Hard to believe anything anyone says right now. Portland could actually mean that, or they could just be saying that to see if Milwaukee or New Jersey up their offer.

Also, just because the deadline is 2, does not mean all deals will be announced by then.
I guess I'm the only one who doesn't want to see both young guys go for a dude who's done in 2 years.
If I remember correctly we were seeing deals trickle though all the way up until 5 or so last year.
I dont want to lose HIll, Mason will be gone when his contract is up so if we can get VC in place of Mason, im all for that.
Malik & cash to OKC for Wilcox.

I'm torn TBQH. I would give up Mason but I would rather keep Hill. I can't help but see visions of Tony carrying this team at the point for the rest of his career dancing in my head.
Why would they do that? Edit: they gain an extra million in cap space.
Some deals do take longer to be announced. But I think if there was a big trade like Carter to the Spurs we'd hear about it around noon time.
Agreed. Mason actually said that in an article.
Please, waive him
link to article where Mason said this. Just in the past couple of days he said he wants to play here for "a very long time"
When did Mason say he would be gone after his contract?
He's obviously worth more than what he's being paid. I think the Spurs would be open to a larger payday once his current deal is up.
What article are you talking about?
He's full of . I highly doubt Mason said he would leave when his contract was done.
This was my thinking also-as those 2 would most likely help more in the long run....but then you know I started thinking with manu's body prob having some major issues after a few more years in the league as were already seeing some problems, TD heading into his older age, I think the championship window for the TD era really is this year and the two years following it which would bring TD to 35. VC is about 32 now and see him being a solid high flying player for about 2 years after this. So, if they really want to win in that window I think you go for it....but just dont see it happening cuz the spurs are fiscally responsible.
I tend to agree since I believe that Mase will be asking for a lot more come contract time. And he has earned it with his play this year so I would do a VC for Mason and others but NEVER Mase/Hill and others. That is just too much for VC and it would really hurt our long term development IMO.
Thats why I dont think he will be back. He will leave like Jax did.
Mason's future lies in what the Spurs decide to do with regards to a 2010 plan. If they want capspace (but won't have the max) then they probably have to lose Mason. If they decide to forget 2010 and shoot for 2012 they can resign Mason.
He didn't say that he was leaving for sure...but he said that the reason why he signed a 2 year deal is so that he could be a part of the 2010 bidding. Some team that is left out in the cold on the bigger names will most certainly pay him too much. I'll have to track down the link.
Ah, well then that makes sense.
I remember when Beno was the hot rookie point guard and some wanted him to start over TP. Some are a bit carried away with Hill on this forum.
Yeah I feel that way a bit and I think we can draft another good PG but I think everyones fear is Vaughn. I know thats my fear.
