quick question about the trade deadline. when exactly are the trades announced? do they have to be announced at the end of the trade deadline or just be approved by the deadline?

The league has to know the deal is in progress by the deadline. Often times deals aren't released until hours later.

In about one hour we'll know all the trades that were made. You just have to get the paperwork in to the league in ten more minutes ... but it takes a while for the news to trickle out if there are last minute deals.
