I'm as committed to the Spurs as they are to winning championships. since they made no effort again this year, I will make no effort to support them as well. they will still be my favorite team, but I won't be spending any money, time, or emotion on them anymore this season. not than anyone will miss me, but I won't be back here either until the season is over, then I'll be back to say "I told you so" and talk about what needs to be done on 09-10

    peace

    Then you're not a fan...

This team reminds me of 03 Spurs when everyone said we didn't have what it took to take LA. S. Jackson and Claxton weren't known too much around the league. To me that was the Spurs best team ever. We have a good bench. Hill and Mason could be starting on most teams.

well the difference was that Duncan was the best player in the NBA at that time..one of the most dominant seasons in NBA history from an accolades standpoint..

as I've said before, we'll have to ride with this team, and I don't have a problem with it..

this isn't our last year of contention, since we should be getting a youth injection next season in Mahinmi, Hairston, and possibly Gist..with possibly 'Sheed..

our season will depend on Andrew Bynum, and how he looks in his return..

we can improve within the team..we have much more talent than last year, we just have to get it together, specifically on D..we'll see how we look going into the playoffs..if Bynum comes back, we'll be a huge underdog..hopefully the shots are falling..

everything starts with defense though..hopefully this gets the team together, since there is nothing up in the air anymore..Manu is out 2-3 weeks, we won't be making a trade..let's get the D and chemistry together now..

How are those defensive stats lookin?

Then GTFO off the train asshole. Everyone knows the Spurs will pick it up defensively when it matters, Bruce's minutes will go up, and Thomas or Oberto may get more burn as they are better defensively than Bonner as well. And it didnt help that Manu missed time which led to our defense slipping in the beginning as well.

    Not at all like 03.

We had a younger Timmy and......

Oh yeah , some scrub named David Robinson patrolling the middle with him.

Believed in this team from the beginning, still do. We are a better team than last years team that lost in the WCF's. Our rotation should look like this:

    PG- TP, Hill
    SG- Mason, Manu
    SF- Bowen, Finley, Hairston, Udoka
    PF- TD, Thomas
    C- Bonner, Oberto

At some point Pop has to pull the plug on Finley and yank his ass out of the starting lineup and only give him spot-up minutes. Bowen has to be placed in the starting lineup, and I think at some point Thomas or Oberto should take Bonners spot in the starting lineup as well for defensive purposes. This team can take the Lakers damn it, we are waaay better than last yrs team that bowed out to them, and we had TWO 20 pt leads in 2 games against them only to blow them.

    Hill>Vaughn
    Mason>Udoka
    Bonner>Horry's corpse from last yr.
Healthy and hungry Manu> Hurt Manu

    Let's do this es.

Your assertion that we're better at this point than last year in the WCF is bull , hence your aggressive reaction to my simple question.

This may happen, that may happen. all that. It hasn't happened yet.
    It ISNT happening. Period.

But I still believe the Spurs will make a good run.

riiiiggghht. I'm saying the Spurs have better parts this year and can and will be better than last yrs team. You gotta remember last yrs team had Bruce starting and Oberto as well, which helped the D out greatly. Bonner and Finley starting this yr. is the reason the perimeter D is not there so much. You're telling me youd rather have Vaughn, Udoka, and Horry over Hill, Mason, and Bonner in a 7-game series against the Lakers?

it's not ridiculous to say that duncan has been the best player in the league this season. he just hasn't received the media hype in about 4 years.

You made my case for me.......

You really believe that the Spurs are going to beat the Lakers given that they are worse defensively this year than last?

Or is your argument that Mason and Bonner more than compensate for that? Say it ain't so......
