Good to hear!
I bought the wireless adapter for the pc.
Looks like this
My PC is able to detect it, but it doesnt recognize the right analog stick.
As it were, youre right anyway. Its actually more convenient to buy a corded controller for my pc exclusively anyway. My gripe with the wireless (aside from the analog stick not working) was every time I hit power on the controller to start it, the 360 turned on.
Jesus H...its been so long since I even tried, I didnt want to be a and ask for advice and never try.
It worked. First time. ha
Good to hear!
360
If you ever wanna get laid again, go with the Wii.
I was a console gamer since about 4 years old. I was a HUGE PC gamer starting around 1996-1997ish. I have switched now though
i've had the ATARI, Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Nintendo 64, PlayStation 2, XBOX 360 and of course PC
The reason I stopped playing PC games is because of CHEATERS. I will never play those games like Counter-Strike online again because of all the unfairness. PC performance, graphic card advantages, FramesPerSecond advantage, Skins, hacks, aimbots, aim skins, wall hacks, scripts, special hotkeys, I hate that. It gives an unfair advantage to a player like me who isn't 16 anymore and just wants to log in and have fun.
That's why I play Team Fortress 2 and all my online games on the 360 and not on the PC. I realize I am missing out on tons of updates, new weapons, custom made levels, etc... but at least I know the cheating is down to a minimum and there are no unfair advantages.
I do agree though, PC is where it's at. I would go back to it but people have too many unfair advantages that directly affect the game.
I do however, played games like World of Warcraft in the past. Those type of games I will play on a PC because the cheating is down to a minimum, even though when it comes to PVP, once again you have unfair advantages like scripts, special skins, spell UI, etc
Have you played many FPS games on PC lately? Any decent server these days have admins patrolling their territory. If someone is even questionable, they spec him until he does something that's obviously scripting/hacking. He's then kick/banned instantly.
I have NEVER seen a hacker on TF2, except for when the game first released there was a bug that you could get under the map, however this has since been fixed. Even griefers are usually banned relatively quickly now.
I have had exactly one moderate problem with ONE cheater over the past 6 months. When I did, I found another server in 5 seconds, and had no problems afterward.
Pro's and con's to each system. Here's some I haven't seen posted yet.
1.Blue Ray won the battle vs HD dvd's so if your into movies you can't miss with the ps3 being a good gaming system and a good blue ray player
2.90% of the exclusive content that was supposed to be for PS3 XBOX360 is getting the game. Companies like Square which were huge sony guys jumped on the 360 when given half a chance. That alone should give you the indication of the power of xbox and of microsoft
3.I'm a huge gaming freak. I have my Nintendo sitting in a box with bomberman and final fantasy 1 still ready to go whenever I feel like it. As well my snes, sega gen 32x saturn, ultra, jag, dreamcast are all still at my fingertips and just a few plugs away from being hooked in. I've been a big pc gamer since the days of telnet mud and when ultima got started and multiplayer quake *long live MPLAYER and HEAT!* The PC games OTHER than mmporg's have been mostly ports that are pretty much on all the other systems. One of the biggest draws to the PC is 1.Unlike the xbox and other consules you don't have to buy a new system every time they release. You just have to be smart with laying out your computer and upgrading certain items mobo, graphics card, ram as needed.
4. Yes hackers are apart of every system. From glitchers to drop quitters to down right hacks. However with that said ALOT of game designers work around the clock to fix problems as best they can. No game system is flawless but all try to patch as needed.
5.If your into MMORPG games NO SYSTEM can compare to the flexbilty you have with your computer. There are just way to many options when it comes to playing mmporgs on the pc that you just cant do on the other systems.
6. Never knock the power of the keyboard and mouse. While it may seem wierd playing games in this manner once you learn whats a good comfort level to you it becomes second nature. The big benefit is with diff shooters on other consules they don't have set all games press x to shoot all games press y to jump with the computer you have that power. You can either configure it in game so every game you have your basics set to the same keys or if you got a sexy mouse and keyboard you got options for in game macros that far and away outdo anything that you could do with an xbox wii or ps3.
7.PS3 WII and Sony know the one area where for years PC had the true advantage was what you could do online with a PC. With the new generation systems this has changed. You now have friend management avatar control media options for video's, movies, and other assorted things you could do with the computer. However they still fall short in raw power.
8.Each system for the most part has a different genre on which they are extremly just well better play on them. For the xbox series first person shooters seem to be better than PS3 WII and even PC lately. For the PS3 the games themselves just seem smoother. The WII even has it's own niche with it's fun party style games that you can have 8 people over giggling and laughing like children when they all 30+.
All in all it's about what you are comfortable with. Ask yourself what type's of games you want to play and how you play them. Ask yourself do you want something only you can enjoy *PC* or something your friends can come over and play with you WII XBOX PS3. Ask yourself do you want a blue ray player at some point? These will help when you deciding what you want. Finally when getting one of the next gen system XBOX360 PS3 WII remember if you don't like it places like gamestop will let you trade it in for credit or outright return it depending on how long you have it. Some cities even have places where you can rent whole systems. I'd suggest some time go to a gaming lounge if you have access to one. If your in SA I can reccomend a few that carry all systems and play each one see what you like.
TO CRYHAVOC :
yeah admins being present helps for the cheaters who rage a server...but that doesn't solve the main problem, believe me. it is VERY easy to fake out spectators.
you can have a Wall hack running fully and act like you don't see people through walls.
you know exactly where everyone is, but you play like you don't know. this gives you the advantage of the faster trigger -AND- you avoid unlucky deaths.
it's how many 'great' players end up with scores of like 43-9 type of crap.
how do I know? because I did it. towards the end of my PC FPS gaming, I played CS, America's Army, etc.. and i faked out server admins. i reached to #1 on the leaderboard on a VERY popular CS server.
i intentionally 'let myself die' by walking towards a guy camping next to a wall or something, then when i die, talk on the mic "oooh sheit. what a camper, didnt see him" type of . do this to throw people off.
when you walk towards people around corners, YOU KNOW THEY ARE THERE, you are ready to shoot at them. just don't be obvious with pre-aim and you have a huge advantage.
trust me man, PC cheating will never be stopped. the very nature of the PC allows hackers to with it. it will never end.
players you THINK are legit, sometimes are not. i guarantee you, spectating does nothing. its very easy to use a wall hack or something like that and not be caught.

oh my god, Quake multiplayer <3
my first online FPS. easily, the best fun i ever had on a PC. remember the Quake Name Creator with the funny letters and gold characters in game?i was WhoDaMan and THE JANITOR on that game
i also played the early CTF mods, not the 3wave ones.
Which is why I usually played on servers that banned anyone even suspected of hacking.
You were good on a pub? Really? Wow, congrats. So was I. I was actually ranked #2 on a pub with over 30,000 users per month.
Anyone who's good enough to play seriously went to a CAL league. And I DARE you to get away with hacks there. If you weren't good enough, I guess hacking your popular little pub was good enough for you, wasn't it? Some of us went 43 and 9 without hacking, but more power to you for fooling the admins. I'm still absolutely positive that a vigilant administrator who's played a lot would pick up on your hacks. Little things, like twitching toward someone you see out of your periphery when they're really through a wall can give you away instantly.
Also: Since when are PCs the only system that gets hacked? I've seen cheaters on xbox live as well. , I watch my brother glitch for maps at a time on CoD4/xbox Live! and since there are no admins, there is no one to kick him for it.
Xbox 360 has Halo 3. Nuff said.
Seriously though, 10 to 20 years from now when the gaming technology is insane and we all look back, the Halo trilogy will be up there with Mario and Zelda and all the other iconic game franchises.
I have a 360 I love it, I enjoy playing online with my friends. I can't speak for the PS3 but I've heard that their online multiplayer is usually laggy. Maybe somebody else with a PS3 can clarify if that statement is true.
Let's just stick to discussing video game controllers.

I think I still have that thing on one of my computers.
43-9...really?
Pffft...in COD4 I routinely went 50-5.
In SOF2, which was an addiction for me in my late teens-early twenties, I was 70-10 every time, every game, every map, every everything.
My best game ever was 102-4. Trust me, the "Cheater!" crys were loud, but I was on a clan server who we had played against in OGL, so the admin kicked the idiots.
I never cheated, never had to. Deadly accuracy and knowledge of the maps, thats all it takes (oh, and an incredible hot streak).
The CoD4 scores are always skewed though (especially on PC) because of the server size (64+) and the aerial attack spammage (stopped playing because of it).
My best scores always had a myriad of airstrikes in there. Not so in SoF2, if you had 100 kills its because you shot/naded dumb ers 100 times.
<King of Grenades
/nostalgic self-gratification
These days, I get owned in everything. I dont play enough or have interest to. I was playing Gears2 yesterday...HA! I think I was raped, so I called the police.
as I said, SOMETIMES the great players cheat. Not everyone. I legitimately got great scores sometimes too
but I -guarantee- that any GOOD and INTELLIGENT hacker will never be caught. there will be no 'twitching' or pre-aiming through a wall. you see everyone, but play like you don't see them.
CRY HAVOC keeps saying spectators can catch them, but there is no way to catch a good one. and this is why I stopped playing PC FPS games. I am still open to playing other PC games though, like RTS or MMORPG's
anyway, XBOX 360 glitches aren't hacking. anyone can do it and they are usually fixed by developers through a patch quickly.

I haven't bought a new system since my original Xbox but I plan to get a 360 when I do. The price is much better ($199) and, since I only really play sports games at home with my buddies, it will work for me.
