If someone knowingly infected their partner with an STD, I can comprehend that the resulting argument might get heated enough that someone gets hit. I get it. I don't condone it, I don't approve of it, I think it's incredibly immature, but I can understand that feeling of being so livid that you lash out and lose control for a moment. The "for a moment" part being key, which was the point of one of my earlier posts. Once you go past that first, impulsive, immature reaction and proceed to beat/choke another person, you've crossed a line in my book. Regardless the specifics of the situation. Legitimate self defense or a quick and thoughtless mistake of a reaction? I'm willing to give a little leeway. Unnecessarily beating the out of someone long past the point you're still operating on impulse? That's going too far.
