I own a 360 but don't get to play all that often (work/wife/dogs/family/TV take up most of my time) but used to be a huge fighting game nerd back in the day. First SF2 (and million updated versions of it), then the MK series, Killer Instinct, Virtua Fighter, etc. I started to lose interest once the games went from 2d to 3d. From what I've seen, SF IV looks to go back to it's 2D roots but I just don't know if I trust that. I wish I could play a demo but I figured I'd see if any of you have played it and whether you'd recommend it to someone who misses the days of 2D fighters.
It's pretty cool... i was pissed at first because i was going through arcade mode and i kept on getting challenges from random people and it would reset whatever match i was in.
it took me a while to see that you could turn that feature off.
I keep going back and forth on getting this. I haven't dropped cash on a fighting since Tekken 5. How long do you guys see yourself playing it until it gets old?
it has a lot of unlockables and some of the achievements take a long time to get (365 flashy background finishes)... I'd say for a very long time, especially if there are fighters added via DLC.
My friend brought it to work and I just played it on my lunch break. Pretty amazing. I might pick it up when i have the cash.
Damn, I guess I'm picking it up after work today
I don't like the directional pad on the XBOX controller (playing the SF2 from the marketplace made me wish I could go back to the SNES controller) but I'll give it the weekend before I s out for the arcade joystick. Anyone on Live, add me. ID: chreph
You can buy the SF IV ed ion pad for $200![]()
semi related--- does anyone know if they will ever make a Marvel vs Capcom 3???? part 2 became my favorite fighting game EVER!!!!!
''A new rating on the ESRB website, which was located by the snooping people of NeoGAF, has found out that Marvel Vs Capcom 2 will be making its way to Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 in the future. The site states the game was rated Teen because it contains “Blood, Suggestive Themes, and Violence.”
Just trip and shoryuken his dumb ass, rinse and repeat. He is a little though.
He's not so hard after you figure his tendencies out, which is pretty much synonymous with figuring out how to not get grab raped.
I need to beat the game with 5 more characters to unlock Seth (Rose, Dhalsim, Rufus, Zangief, El Fuente). And ing Seth is grab raping and uppercutting the outta these characters. I was so frustrated I had to turn to Akuma just to beat his ass for my own satisfaction.
Everybody was saying that Seth was really hard... the first 4 characters I faced him with (Ryu, Sakura, Ken, Zangief) only took me 2 rounds to beat him. It wasn't until I tried facing him with Dhalsim that I started getting ultra frustrated. I wanted to throw my controller at the tv.
Unfortunately my friends fat ass cat bumped into the 360 while I was playing and it caused the disc to scratch.
ty. Thank God you can rip to the HDD these days huh?
this game kicks ass, great time killer with a bunch of friends and still unlocking characters.
did it destroy the disc?
Just unlocked Gouki yesterday. Man, I missed the Shun Goku Satsu.
it ed it pretty bad... do you think i can take it back to best buy and get another copy? if i tell them it came like that will they believe me?
Can you return a game and say it never worked? I haven't tried.
And did you at least strangle the cat?
One character I'm liking more and more is Cammy. Quick, strong and well balanced.
I just unlocked Seth last night, I'll prolly never use the er.
took it to best buy and had it exchanged with no problem at all... i even got to get more reward points on the exchange.
